Heresy is a very old concept for mind control. It is a personal opinion of some 'dead white guy'. I don't buy that - I will defend everyone's freedom of religion - a first amendment right - which SHOULD be embraced here. We should be welcoming lovers of God and the neighbor (the two great commandments).

Then it most certainly appears you really don't know (aka are ignorant) of true Christianity and the teachings of Jesus.
Jesus certainly taught that His followers would suffer persecution.
John 15:18-21 18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. 21 But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.
And He tells us how to address the situation when people DO *hate* or persecute Christians.
Matthew 5:38-42 38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41 And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42 Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.
Matthew 5:43-48 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
If you are a true follower of His, retaliation is NOT an option. You are obligated to turn the other cheek and pray for those you consider an enemy.
And there's a world of difference between someone expressing an opinion or showing you truth out of Scripture when you are in error and true persecution. Telling someone something they don't like or don't want to hear is NOT persecution.
It's not *hate* or *intolerance* to tell them the truth of God's word.
Those are simply liberals buzzwords used by the left to intimidate anyone they disagree with into backing off. It's disingenuous and and a disgrace for anyone who names the name of Christ to resort to such immature tactics.
So suck it up and quit your whining. When someone throws you in jail, beats you, you lose your job or home because of your faith, then you can get back to us about persecution. But until then, lose the martyr complex. It doesn't wear well on someone who is merely personally offended and is an insult to those who are or have been REALLY persecuted for their faith.
Anyone who considers what happens on FR as persecution is nothing but a whining, pampered cry baby and needs a good reality check.
Posters who find that contentious town square format uncomfortable should instead read and post to Religion Forum threads labeled "ecumenical" "caucus" "prayer" or "devotional."

I’ve remember kids on our school bus that I later found were Mormons. I don’t ever remember anyone hassling them because of it.
The most problems came when the LDS and RLDS kids got into shouting matches about who was “correct”.

Three things Davy, please show these hateful posts you refer to frequently; which God are you referring to (God Almighty, or the lds gods or the all paths lead to god, god that you seem to trumpet). And people call me Cindy.
