One thing of interest though is his churchs definition of the Trinity: He has eternally existed in three personalities...Personalities?
Might be reading to much into that. Or not.
It's possible they're just really sloppy.
There's a storefront church in town who includes this in their homegrown SOF: "We believe in one God, Creator of Heaven and Earth. This one God has revealed himself to man as The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost ...Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles of this one God."
???
True. But it is a huge church. Plus I expect more precision from the Southern Baptists.
As far as the storefront church, it kind of reminds me of the saying that the more you try to explain the Trinity in human terms the closer you slide towards heresy. This kind of sounds like the analogy of the Trinity being like vapor/liquid/frozen water. Not exactly since those don't exist simultaneously at the molecular level.
That's why I am a Confessional Christian. Show me what you beleive the Bible teaches. I'm not impressed with churches that tout believing the Bible and only the Bible. It can take years to figure out what they believe the Bible teaches, and then vary greatly between Pastors.
