Why do we need this fragment to tell us this? There are numerous references to the bride of Jesus in the accepted NT.
Imagine 1500 years from now someone gets their hands on a few pages of the script for “Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter” and it starts a big controversy that he was a vampire hunter.
i.e. this whole thing is quite literally laughable.
“Why do we need this fragment to tell us this? There are numerous references to the bride of Jesus in the accepted NT.”
Well, yes, there are! However, The Bride of Christ as mentioned in the NT is his church.
The Bride of Christ is the Church. Not any human.
But Professors of Divinity get bored by accepted books of the NT. Those books are available to anyone at low/no cost and just don’t grab headlines.
But find something mysterious and secretive that can be blown up into a “Gospel”, well...that’s something!
No, Jesus was not married.
