New revelation: Mormons can drink Coke or Pepsi

SALT LAKE CITY — Maybe now, reporters, bloggers, outsiders and even many Mormons will accept that the Utah-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does not forbid drinking cola.

On Aug. 29, the LDS church posted a statement on its website saying that “the church does not prohibit the use of caffeine” and that the faith’s health-code reference to “hot drinks” “does not go beyond (tea and coffee).”

A day later, the website wording was slightly softened, saying only that “the church revelation spelling out health practices … does not mention the use of caffeine.”

The same goes for the church’s two-volume handbook, which LDS leaders use to guide their congregations. It says plainly that “the only official interpretation of ‘hot drinks’ … in the Word of Wisdom is the statement made by early church leaders that the term ‘hot drinks’ means tea and coffee.”

I was referring to Paul Ryan, not Joe Biden.

I knew that; so if it works for Paul influencing Mitt; it should also work for Joe influencing Barak; right?

If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed;
if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly;
you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival.

There may even be a worse case:
you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory,
because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”

Winston Churchill

Whether The People be led by the Lord,
Or lured by the loudest throat:
If it be quicker to die by the sword
Or cheaper to die by vote—
These are the things we have dealt with once,
(And they will not rise from their grave)
For Holy People, however it runs,
Endeth in wholly Slave.

Hot Dr. Pepper? With a touch of brandy? Who’s gonna know?

Sounds dangerous. It would look too much like coffee. Besides, who would want to drink such a concoction?

Do the skinny tie wearers who don't know you are not Mormon call you "Jack"?

A good friend of mine, who recently died, once had a pygmy goat that looked just like that. I think a mountain lion got it.

Romney said “As President, I will protect the sanctity of life. I will honor the institution of marriage. And I will guarantee America’s first liberty: the freedom of religion.” Was this before or after he said, “ I will NEVER infringe upon a woman’s right to choose.” “I will be better for gays than TED KENNEDY.” . Did he feel this way when he tried to force Catholic Hospitals to do abortions. He is the perfect candidate no matter what side you are on so is he.

Are you kidding? A large bottle of Dr. Pepper half emptied and filled with Jim Beam man! That's living. And we drive around all night in our pickup trucks passing the bottle around. Vodka in 7-UP, Whiskey in Coke and Dr. Pepper. those are the call drinks in the Buckskin Bar in Fredonia AZ.

Utah doesn't have any decent places to drink except in a pickup truck.

Moab isn't really in proper obedience. No United Order success over there. They even have A Winery

Trouble is all bars in Utah have to follow the church driven silly rules. Also consider Moab is way way off the beaten path.

Well I'm surprised Jim changed his mind but I'm not there yet.

My analysis still holds.

If Either Obama or Romney wins:

If Obama wins:

If Romney wins,

Other issues...

At this point, Romney does seem to have an economic plan that at least mentions 3 of the structural issues in the economy, (Trade, Energy & Government Spending). But he has provided little specifics. Meanwhile Obama has no plan at all.

Romney may be better for Israel than Obama. However, Osama Bin Laden is dead, terrorists continue to be targeted, it's not clear if Obama could have stopped Arab Spring or the Muslim brotherhood takeover of Arab Spring, and Ed Koch who was critical of Obama on Israel says both candidates have an acceptable plan for Israel.

If Romney is allowed to "rescue" us, it will make the stupid Mormon White Horse prophecy come true, and more people will be sucked into the false religion of Mormonism.

I believe we will survive 4 more years of Obama. I fear for our country equally under both candidates.

I still think the best thing I can do is vote third party for a candidate that truly represents my values.

So...

...you'd much rather have cancer than heart problems; eh?
