SALT LAKE CITY Maybe now, reporters, bloggers, outsiders and even many Mormons will accept that the Utah-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does not forbid drinking cola.
On Aug. 29, the LDS church posted a statement on its website saying that the church does not prohibit the use of caffeine and that the faiths health-code reference to hot drinks does not go beyond (tea and coffee).
A day later, the website wording was slightly softened, saying only that the church revelation spelling out health practices does not mention the use of caffeine.
The same goes for the churchs two-volume handbook, which LDS leaders use to guide their congregations. It says plainly that the only official interpretation of hot drinks
in the Word of Wisdom is the statement made by early church leaders that the term hot drinks means tea and coffee.

Yes you are so right. I think they are afraid to look at Romney’s record. I understand the people who know his record but feel they need to hold their nose to vote. I’ve been their done that. I know Obama can do a lot of damage in 4 more years, about as much as Romney can do in 8yrs. This country needs a real change not just a change from D to R.
Years ago I read that when the mormons got to Utah they started up their own wine and liquor manufacturing for many years.
One of their “enforcers” Danite or Avenging Angel, died after choking on his own vomit after a night of boozing.
The mormon press eulogized him as a good church member.
The anti-mormon press eulogy was not good to him, calling him one who slit a throat or murdered women and children.
***What is your denomination? I will do some research on it and trash it. Thanks . Specifically , I need the name of the church.***
For speaking the truth? Remember, It was not the CHRISTIANS who stumbled out of the woods claiming they had seen visions and angels and God, and Jesus, and that all churches were wrong and that he was right and if you didn’t believe every word he said, he would stand at the door of Heaven and keep you out. He threw down the gauntlet, the CHRISTIANS picked it up and the mormons have been getting their tails whooped in debates since.
As for mormon underwear, I dated a strong mormon girl but she did not have on any underwear at all. ;-D
***I have attended Baptist, Catholic, and most recently, Mormon churches.***
But which ones did you her REAL PREACHING in? EXpositions on the word of God!
My bet is Baptist and Catholic, but not mormons. You sing a few hymns, break bread and drink WATER, then break up for classes in which various MORMON church doctrines or histories are taught, but NO EXPOSITIONAL TEACHING ON THE WORD OF GOD!
The Republican Party was founded by a coalition of Whigs, Anti-Slavery, anti-polygamy people.
And now the descendents of slaves vote for the party of SLAVERY, and the descendents of the Polygamists is THE GOP candidate for President.
What a strange twist of fate!
***This week’s revelation from the Planet Kolob is that soft-drinks are now OK to drink.***
Maybe we will see the day when an LDS revelation changes the water into cola in their communion service.
***But if there was one good thing about LDSs dietary rules, NOT drinking Pepsi, Coke, etc., was probably it!***
I remember that mormons ate anything that didn’t bite them first, drawing the line at alcoholic and caaffenated drinks.
If you really want legalism in foods, look at the Seventh Day Adventists.
****It just goes to show you when you lie, the events always change.***
This is an old cop trick. You get the suspect to tell what he knows, then a little later ask again, and again, and again.
If the stories don’t add up then you start pointing out the difference and watch the suspect sweat.
Why should I dread that? If the Lord were to ask me about my vote in this election, I would have a ready answer (which He would already know since He knows my heart).
Lord, I didn't vote for Barak Obama because I believe that he has shown himself by his actions to be an enemy of You and Your Church. Lord, I didn't vote for Mitt Romney because his politics didn't differ that much from Obama's and by his actions, Romney showed himself to be a supporter of abortion and of gay marriage which your Word forbids. In addition, Mitt Romney is an enthusiastic proponent of a false gospel which lead people away from You. I couldn't see how a vote for either would be pleasing in your sight.
Even if I were supporting Obama (which I'm not), it's not the unforgiveable sin. In the unlikely event that I'm in sin for not voting for Romney, I'm in luck. The blood of Christ covers that "sin" just like any other.
“Romney agrees with 85% of our position”
Ha! You believed him? Words are cheap. He remains pro gay, pro abortion, statist, etc.
“I think Jesus would cast his vote for Romney over the zer0.”
This assumes Jesus Christ would vote. Why do you think that?
HELLO!!!
They always COULD!!
Unless it was HOT!!!

Rank and file MORMONs not only are taught to NOT think for themselves, but to FOLLOW what the Living Prophet® tells them, that their OWN 'scriptures' have to be 'interpreted' for them!
I wonder what the 'interpretation' of verses 12-13 above comes out after the MORMON spin cycle.
Who?
I hope that NO one has a picture of him chowing down on some nice ribs or other bar-b-que items this summer!
THAT would sure blast his Temple Worthiness card© right out of the water!!!!

Well; they'd have to get rid of D&C 89:5, first.
No!
WAIT!!
They STILL have D&C 132:58-66 and they IGNORE that!
Yeah...
THAT worked out well!!

There for a moment when the light inside MNJohnnie's head was shining, it was a choice between the Evil One and "Yes, folks, Moderna Designs present the latest in kitchen luxury. The Moderna Wondermajor all-automatic convenience centerette." (Time Bandits) What an easy choice. Who wouldn't want that. And then bigotry and hysteria descended, there was an explosion and a voice said, "It's evil! Don't touch it!"
ALLAH thanks you for your respect and support!!!
Pointing out false teachings from false prophets is not bigotry; but a REQUIREMENT; if one is an observant Christian.
It's ok to put your country first and the fate of men's souls second (or third).
This country allows that freedom.
And steve will even support your right to do so.
