Per the Feb. 7, 2012 Pakistan Independent (see first link below), "The current LDS First Presidency Statement of 1978 says specifically mentions Prophet Muhammad as one of the great religious leaders of the world who received a portion of Gods light .
It would appear, therefore, that the Muslim world might be "happy" with either an Obama re-election or Mitt Romney. And, hey, why not? Just look at all the "ecumenical" outreach attempts with Islam made by Mormon leaders in the "ecumenical" link section listed below.
For these past seven years, over a dozen Freepers have been faithful in posting the 25 articles linked below...several of these written by Mormon writers/sources -- and one thread below posted by a Mormon.
* Mormonism: What the Latter Day Saints think of Islam [Indicator of how Mitt perceives Islam?] [Pakistan Independent thread]
* Mitt Romney: "Islam is not an inherently violent faith" [My Note: With this kind of lack of Romney foreign policy discernment, expect MORE Romney foreign policy boo-boos like his comments in the UK @ Olympics]
* Islamic And Mormonism Similarities: Similarities Between Joseph Smith and Muhammad (Written by Brother Andrew, a pioneer missionary leader to typically "closed" countries re: the gospel)
* Islamic And Mormonism Similarities (Same content posted a year later on FR)
* Common Threads between Islam and Mormonism (posted by Freeper poster Kaslin and written by one with an Egyptian heritage)

Ah blow ‘em off, that kind of rise is what Bozos like that go for.
When they got nothin’ nothin’ is all they can dish out...
Withdrawing support is what these guys want at FR. See TBL for the evidence...

Well, PA you have convinced me to withdraw my monthly contributions and end my relationship with FR after all these years.
Good bye
(LOL)
And that is exactly what he wanted you to do. There will be rejoicing at the TBL site today...

Luke 18:11-12 EIV The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: God, I thank you that I am not like other peoplerobbers, evildoers, adulterersor even like this freeloading Freeper. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.
Let's see if I have this right:
To get to the highest level of MORMON 'heaven', the powers that be have to check a DONOR's List to see if you DID contribute to FreeRepublic uh, Salt Lake City??
The job of a certain rich engineer produced a good living. He thought to himself, "What shall I do? I have no traction on FR."
Then he said, "This is what I'll do. I will harass those whose message and methods I dislike; who haven't PAID for the Right to Speak!!
-- Luke 12:16-21 (somewhat paraphrased by ELSIE)
Ha ha!
MORMONism is FULL of 'rules' now that members do NOT follow!
The 'rule' of POLYGAMY is NOT an 'exception' and it is FOUND in D&C 132!
The 'rule' of NOT eating meat in warm weather is also NOT an 'exception', but found in D&C 89.

I joined Free Republic as a conservative first and I am a monthly donor. The economy has caused me to be more cautious but I feel that it is a worthy cause for conservatism. I did not join to fight Mormonism although have enjoyed the banter and sometimes try injecting humor.
As to Mormonism I realized it was not for me some forty five years ago. I am proud of that heritage in many ways because of what it gave me in personal achievements. But we were sheltered from the truth of the culture. Would it have been different for me had I been born into any other fundamentalist organization in say, Indiana? Probably not as achieving personal goals are just that, personal.
I cannot cause Mitt Romney to leave Mormonism and become a true conservative. My only prayer is that he does one more flip flop and begins to listen to true conservatives. And here in Utah it makes no difference whether I personally vote for him or write in Sarah Palin.
I respect Jim Robinson for what he has to do to meet the bottom line. I am proud that he came here and spent time with us. I spent yesterday trying to figure out how to pay staff and contractors. It ain’t easy. But my passion for historic preservation keeps me focused just as Jim’s passion for conservatism keeps him focused.
Therefore these incessant battles over religion are silly and petty from my perspective. Nobody knows the truth about anything regarding religion. Nobody!
This assumes of course they are actually freeloaders...
