There is a power and technique that the church has missed. The quiet stillness where real salvation is gifted to us effortlessly is real prayer. Please find it so we can all fight for our nation and right much more effectively!
Luckily for most of us, God choose to graciously show us how sinful we are, a little at a time. Hence my statement upstream that the older I get, the more sinful I realize I am. Had He shown me all of my sinfulness at one time I would have no doubt been suicidal.
“But God.....”
O please...writing BS and jerk is not a sin. I am certainly not a mamby pamby christian, you are correct. However, for you in project an anger onto my words is a sin itself. It is not always a sin to say a curse word. Jesus had some pretty powerful words for his day of religious hypocrites. And I have reasoned with you. You and your “ilk” are people who, in the face of the obvious, continue to excuse away sin and water down the wonderful power of the holy spirit. I wish you well, but you and your ilk are indeed a bunch of weak and watered down religious intellectuals. Sorry...you have made that apparent, not anything I have done. Go ahead and judge me wrongly, that is your right.
Just for your info..
my ass...jerk...ilk...do not equal sins. If they were said in resentment, or hate, yes. But they were not. You seem to know my attitude just by the written word which actually all have imparted my strongly held beliefs. Shame on you man. I will add HYPOCRITE to the descriptions...for YOU. : )
This is a good example of using very strong words to make his point...In Matthew 23 Jesus was pretty upset with the Pharisees and called them (publicly): fools, hypocrites (fakers), blind guides, damned, and a brood of vipers. All very strong words; however, the point was to shake the religious leaders to their spiritual blindness and error so that they would see the truth.
No malice has been meant by anything that I have written. If you have taken it that way it is a projection. Thank you.
Yes it is. Sin is missing the PERFECT mark of Christ. Sin is not just saying the wrong word...or saying a bad word. Sin is saying things out of the character and TIMING of Christ. That is the DEFINITION of sin.
I think you are confusing sin with transgression. And in that regard...I might tend to AGREE with you. You may not have transgressed (although name calling must be done RIGHTEOUSLY when judging [John 7:24]...and I am a little "iffy: that calling someone a "jerk" would be considered righteous judgment by God).
HOWEVER, You have CERTAINLY sinned. Sin is falling short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23)...and falling short of acting as Christ would act is missing the mark.
And I KNOW the New Testament. And I KNOW if Christ were he to talk to us and post on FR...He would NOT post as you have posted...talk as you have talked. I also know YOU would not talk like that around Him.
So...while you may not have transgressed...you did not bring exact Glory to God and were not PERFECT in your response. THAT is SIN.
You need to learn the definitions. And the bottom line is this: AS I SAID BEFORE: You would NOT say: LORD...watch out for that pile of SH!&%T. YOU know it...I know it...and EVERYONE HERE knows it.
And THAT means it was SIN.
You forgot BS and Sh&4!t. So...you would have typed all of that...THE SAME EXACT WORDS with Christ looking over your shoulder? Yes or No?
You would type all of those SAME phrases with Christ sitting next to you and not alter ONE word. The whole time you were typing...it was like Christ typing through you?
If you did something that you would be ashamed of...would that be sin? Yes or no.
You sit here and type that an Apostle of the living God (Romans 1:1, 1 Cor 9:2; Galatians 1:1; Titus 1:1...these are the PRE-Roman and Roman writing of Paul calling himself an Apostle) is not saved...and talk about MISAPPLICATION of scripture?
I have been a follower of Jesus Christ for 32 years and a minister for almost 20. I have NEVER seen ANYONE misapply scripture to this degree (I'm talking about you)...and I've dealt with every denomination and flaky cult.
You are the FIRST to have ever said that the Apostle of God wasn't saved when he wrote at least 7 books of the New Testament.
Our time here is DONE...DONE...DONE. I pray God causes the scales to fall from your eyes. If that is YOU on the youtube channel...I pray you have NO ONE fall into your heresy.
You cannot reconcile an unsaved individual penning scripture...since scripture is AUTHORED by Holy Men of God being moved by the Holy Spirit.
PERIOD.
You have your faith and it is in the bible..not really God. You are like a legalist , dry and without life. And you do not know me...you cannot in your frame of mind now. God bless...you do need it!
NELSON I am NOT a preacher/minister, merely a student in the WORD. But this comment reminded me of John 1:1 In the beginning (Genesis) was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. How else can any of us have faith in God/His Holy Begotten Son without the WORD?
They were not talking about the written word...you guys are a bit dense, sorry...you are.
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
I will speak directly regarding the Written Word, and the 'born again' claim was NOT the WORD Christ Himself used. It really is easy to find out what Christ told Nicodemus about the first requirement for any to 'see' the kingdom of God.
What does Paul mean when he writes about some who were predestined before the foundation of this age? (Ephesians 1:4, and Christ also refers to this time as well.)
ok
"ALL SCRIPTURE is inspired by God and is profitable for 1) Doctrine; 2) Reproof; 3) Correction and 4) Instructions in Righteousness" (2 Tim 3:16). We are also reminded that scripture is the oracles of God (Romans 3:2) and that it is ACTIVE and POWERFUL...and discerns the THOUGHTS and INTENTS of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
When someone, ANYONE, indicates its a false to argue soley from the scripture...and then attempts to say faith in the Bible is somehow different then faith in the Word of God...I would say the Word has POWERFULLY discerned the thoughts and intents of their heart.
Scripture tells us what to do with such a person:
"Mark them them which cause divisions and offences CONTRARY to the DOCTRINE you have learned...and avoid them..." Rom 16:17
"As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him" (Titus 3:10)
"Everyone who goes on ahead AND DOES NOT ABIDE IN THE TEACHING does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works." (2 John 1:10)
Saying Paul wasn't saved while he wrote the scripture (7 books) is denying the Word of God. The Word of God says he was saved BEFORE Romans 7 was penned. That is heresy. It is a false teaching...and a damnable lie.
Given these are only the facts known...who knows what remains UNKNOWN regarding this shipwrecked faith. I prefer not to find out.
I shake off the dust from under my feet as a testimony against such heresy...and the hypocrisy we ALL have seen openly displayed. The hypocrisy of not acting as Christ would act (which is the DEFINITION of sin). The hypocrisy of slander yet somehow saying they are without sin.
Their words are a testimony AGAINST them.
Obviously Paul was saved at some point. When he wrote about the evil he was compelled to do, he is speaking of his past life. Daaaa! It is you guys who misapply scripture daily, misleading the sheep and watering down the real power of salvation and I am revealing that. Shame on you too!
what you did here is take some of my admittedly strong words and isolated them without the real denial and such that I was dealing with...creating a certain perception that you wanted to create. One would have to read the actual conversation to be honest about any opinion of anger that you say I supposedly had. Shame on you again...this actually is a tactic the leftist media does a lot with conservatives. THe bottom line in all of this and is something nobody here is able to honestly deal with...
1Jn 3:6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Period!
Wrong. Both the end of chapter 7 - where he writes of his doing evil and serving the law of sin - and the beginning of chapter 8 - where he writes of the law of the spirit of life, in Christ Jesus, having delivered him from the law of sin - are written in the present tense. Doing evil he doesn't want to do is taking place although he has been delivered.
"Yeah...free my ass."
"Obama...you can kiss our rear ends!"
One would have to read the actual conversation to be honest about any opinion of anger
The words themselves are contrary to Scripture:
But now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth. - Colossians 3:8
But shun profane and vain babblings: for they grow much towards ungodliness. - 2 Timothy 2:16
Let no evil speech proceed from your mouth; but that which is good, to the edification of faith, that it may administer grace to the hearers. - Ephesians 4:29
There are numerous scripture that says we cannot continue to sin and love God or be born again. You simply will not accept it and you guys manipulate the bible to your own ends...and then judge some of my words as being unscriptural. That is blind intellectualism.
Amen. I would be most troubled over John's statement, "If we say we have no sin the truth is not in us." Something a person should meditate on. It's not difficult.
