Did you import dirt to place in those nicely constructed boxes?

At least you have no worries from the neighbors 60 acres fields of corn or soybeans; when the agricultural spraying drifts over onto your plants.
We have a compost pile that gets filled with leaves and all the lawn clippings. I amend it with sandstone sand and a small bit of bentonite. Then I dig to the bottom of the pit and turn it over regularly with my trusty Kubota bucket.
The boxes are 2x10’s from the Roundy lumber mill in Glendale.
During the high temps in the last two weeks we have had to water almost every day. Last night we added fresh green onions to a Binger green salad. Success at last!
