I want to thank Archbishop William E. Lori for reminding me once again why I'm an ex-Catholic ("Fight for freedom," June 27). With the so-called "Fortnight for Freedom," the church leadership is deliberately and cynically using a mixture of patriotism and religion in a blatant and manipulative attempt to influence the outcome of the upcoming elections.
I can't seem to recall any recent news about Catholic churches being bombed in the United States or attempts to bar American Catholics from attending mass. I do know that the Catholic Church has been using its "religious freedom" for decades to aid and abet child abusers, to recently attack nuns in the United States who are at the forefront of what used to be one of the church's primary missions to aid and comfort the poor and needy, and that the American church has over the past few decades formed an alliance with some of the most strident and politically active right-wing religious groups in the U.S. Archbishop Lori even received an award in May from a coalition of some of those groups.
I am proud to be an American, and I am a strong supporter of the Bill of Rights. I support freedom of religion, and I support freedom from religion. And, at this moment in time, I am also very proud and happy to be an ex-Catholic.

Just because it is a lie does not mean that your message is true.
STOP stating a real falsehood, that only approved private revelation is true.
Unless the Church approves private revelation, it is considered untrue.
Jesus is helping Protestants see the faith, accept it, Our Lord is preparing them to become Catholic.
You keep saying Roman Catholic, which is also untrue. Roman Catholics make up a small portion of the Church.
I certainly would not want your job.
I could not execute it better than what has been demonstrated.
You’ve made my day.
>> and I support freedom from religion
Go pound sand, asswipe.
Jesus wasnt comparing the stars. He wasnt comparing anything in the message to Kevin Barrett, Jesus said 3 times in the one little paragraph Faith Aloneis false, a lie.
“Just because it is a lie does not mean that your message is true.”

One more time....how obvious...
Here’s your chance, stop running away Mark, put up or shut
up...where is the “lie” in this message? Don’t fall back again to say it’s not from Christ, we’ve heard it over and over...state the words that are false.

Oh hear Me, My people. Why do you listen to the hirelings and false teachers and prophets? Did I not say in My word that not all that say to me Lord Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, save those that DO the will of the Father who is in heaven? Then why do you still go about doing your own will and tell yourselves that you are My bride? My people, you have been lied to by the enemy of your soul. Seek Me in these things. Surely I will reveal My truth to you. I love you, My dear children, and it is My desire that each of you share My throne with Me. But unfortunately only a remnant shall overcome. For too many have listened to the lies told by the FALSE SHEPHERDS and prophets. They speak of how you each are already cleansed and adorned in righteousness simply by your BELIEF on My name. These are all lies, My people. For does not My word say that he who DOES righteousness is righteous? Yes, My people, you are made righteous by your faith in Me, but it is FULFILLED BY YOUR OBEDIENCE to My voice. IT IS NOT IMPUTED TO YOU BY A ONE-TIME CONFESSION OF MY NAME. Oh, My people, you have been lied to. Read My word for yourselves. Why listen to those that fatten themselves by fleecing My sheep? I have not sent many of the shepherds that are out there. They have sent themselves for their own glory and their own profit. Oh, My people, did I not say in My word to judge them by their fruit? Then where is the fruit, My people? Oh, but those that have itching ears care not about the fruit. They want to be told all is well and that they shall PROSPER if they simply believe on My name and My promises. Lies, lies, lies, I tell you.
STOP stating a real falsehood, that only approved private revelation is true.

Catholics don’t have to wait for Church approval and the Church cannot say in most of the yet to be approved messages until the divine events prophesied have taken place. The divine events spoken of in the messages are close, one reason current private revelation is such a great spiritual help. “Keep that which is good”, the faithful are allowed. God the Father, Our Lord and Our Lady are speaking to believers every day through private revelation. God is speaking to non-Catholic Christians too, why wouldn’t He? These are grave times.
Since the abolition of Cannons 1399 and 2318 of the former Code of Cannon Law by Pope Paul VI on October 14,1966, in the decree of the Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, A.A. S., 58, page 1186, publications about new apparitions, revelations, prophesies or miracles, etc., HAVE BEEN ALLOWED to be distributed and read by the faithful without the express permission of the Church and without the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur.
In Chapter II, No. 12 the Second Vatican Councils “Lumen Gentium we read
“The Holy Spirit...distributes special gifts among the faithful of every rank... Such gifts of grace, whether they are of special enlightenment or whether they are spread more simply and generally, must be accepted with gratefulness and consolation, as they are specially suited to, and useful for, the needs of the Church ... Judgments as to their genuineness and their correct use lies with those who lead the Church and those whose special task is not indeed to extinguish the spirit, but to examine everything and keep that which is good.”
[Confer - 1 Thess, 5:19-21]
“Extinguish not the spirit. Despise not prophecies. But prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” [1 Thess. 5:19-21]
“In cases which concern private revelations, it is better to believe than not to believe, for, if you believe, and it is proven true, you will be happy that you have believed, because our Holy Mother asked it. If you believe, and it should be proven false, you will receive all blessings as if it had been true, because you believed it to be true.” [His Holiness, Pope Urban VIII, 1623-44]
Jesus is helping Protestants see the faith, accept it, Our Lord is preparing them to become Catholic.
“You keep saying Roman Catholic, which is also untrue. Roman Catholics make up a small portion of the Church.”

Our Lord did not establish Protestantism. Protestants and
the Orthodox broke away from the -singular-...Church.
They must come home to the Roman Catholic Church.
It’s going happen, God doesn’t give exact dates but it is
soon. Trust Him, He can do this Mark.
Can't say I'd go quite that far, but I do recall having someone try to tell me the constitution said "freedom from religion" with that person stressing the "from", when what it really says, is quite different.
With my own response to that person stressing instead;
I’m a Conservative Libertarian. No worries regarding the concern of religious oppression. Save Islam, we don’t have that problem in the U.S.
The jackwagon is promoting the anti-Catholic bigotry that represents itself behind the deceitful veil “of Freedom from Religion”.
My dear brother, it is clear to me that, given the Logos, you yearn for the Rhema; that utterance of Christ directly to your heart. I fear you are looking for it in the wrong places. Pope Urban VIII was not referring to third party revelation, but rather to private first person revelation received by you. Do not look for a voice from God anywhere but in your prayers, because that alone is where you will find it. I encourage you to learn and practice the Lectio Divina.
Lectio Divina, the Latin for 'Holy Reading', is a four step prayer process that has its origins in the second century and was a form and approach to praying with Scripture that was common among medieval religious orders. Lectio Divina has recently been reaffirmed and recommended for all by Pope Benedict XVI.
The process is really quite intuitive. Select a Scripture passage. For beginners I recommend the daily Gospel reading or a Gospel passage that has been on your mind. Lectio - Read the Bible passage gently and slowly several times. Savor each portion of the reading, each syllable of every word, the word choice and the word origins, constantly listening for the "still, small voice" of a single word, a phrase, a notion, a remembrance, or thought that somehow speaks to you.
Meditatio - Reflect on the text of the passage and think about how it applies to your own life, to current, and past situations. Make this a very personal reading of the Scripture and very personal application. Permit God to touch you and your thoughts.
Oratio Respond to the passage by opening your heart to God and know that you are in the presence of the LOGOS. This is not primarily an intellectual exercise, but is a conversation with God who, had you been the only person to ever live, would still have suffered and died for you.
Contemplatio - Listen to God. This is a freeing of yourself from your own thoughts, both mundane and holy, and hearing God talk to us. Opening your mind, heart, and soul to the influence of God. Most often those things that distract us are those things that God is telling need addressing.
There are several steps that many add. These are the step of Reflectio and the step of Actio. Reflectio is reflecting on the process you have just been trough, the assembling of your thoughts and inspirations, the filtering of the word of God from your own thoughts. For me this continues in my daily activities and can sometimes take quite a long time. Actio or action is determining what and how we are going to act on what God has communicated.
Peace be with you.

NL, I must ask,
Why are you helping “Sola Fide” believers go on believing
a lie? They will (I wish they would change) protest the Truth until God shows them in the Great Warning, He is actually trying to show them now.
It’s not Catholic or correct to reject the messages from Heaven, you can’t mean the in CAPS.
Lectio Divina is a beautiful method of contemplative prayer using Scripture, it is not what Pope Urban was talking about in his quote on “believing” private revelation, approved and yet to be approved.
The mystics and saints practiced contemplative prayer, everyone can do the same to draw closer to Our Lord but the messages from Heaven are for all, God makes it clear to share what they have heard on their heart or in some cases actually heard audibly and sometimes though rare, seeing Our Lord and His mother in giving their message.
Private revelation is a help, God is not silent. Why would He be in these times of so much evil? I can see how some Catholics would reject God is speaking to Protestants, it goes the same for Protestants about the Catholic messages from Heaven. He loves us all, He is trying to reach us.
Pride often stops the Hierarchy too, the envy over a messenger hearing from Our Lord AND the messages speak of the falling away of some of Jesus’ consecrated ones, especially in the last fifty years.
Important, the messages from Heaven often end with a request to share the message, ie: “make My message known.”
God bless you,
I have never stated a belief in Sola Fide, but I will not denounce the importance of Faith.
As for my advice regarding where to look for the word of God, I was addressing it to you specifically, not to a general audience. Look to Scripture and prayer that are synergistically joined in Lectio Divina.
I also caution you to look objectively at what you are posting. You are not experiencing private revelation, you are merchandizing third party claims. You have not been touched by a single divine revelation and been called by God to become its champion, you are championing a different prophet and message nearly every day with no apparent discernment. That practice will dilute and diminish any message of divine origin you are given. Ask yourself who would benefit from that before you embrace the next self proclaimed prophet. Not everyone who cries Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven.
Peace be with you.
Why are you helping Sola Fide believers go on believing a lie?
“I have never stated a belief in Sola Fide, but I will not denounce the importance of Faith.”

I know, neither did I, it is “faith and works.” The reason I said the above, never once have you said the words in the paragraph in the message to Kevin are correct. You keep joining in to denounce that the message is from Our Lord.
Then Protestants are confirmed saying it is false.
How can we help bring disbelievers to the faith ignoring the words in that message? How many years has the Church said “Sola Fide” is a lie? Maybe some Protestants who do believe in their own prophets would “see” finally. I have
a hope for them all.
I must of posted the excerpt from the message 12 times and
no one would reply to say which words were exactly...were
false!
blessings,
I cannot speak for anyone else, but for me, as an orthodox Catholic I do not need them. I already have 73 books of of Scripture, the Traditions and Magisterium of the Church and the many, many writings of the Saints and Doctors of the Church. These alleged revelations are at best redundant or superfluous and at worst represent the evil one. I suspect most Christians on these threads feel similarly.
Peace be with you

Thanks NL,
I appreciate your advise on the contemplative practice
of Lectio Divina, it’s beautiful and don’t you think without realizing, it’s a way too that our Brothers and Sisters in Christ hear Our Lord in their heart.
What’s your difficulty with sharing the messages from Heaven? They’re beautiful too. I was reverted/converted by a message from Heaven, you can’t object. I posted the change in Canon Law, anyone can share and read private revelation, approved and unapproved. It is only the disproved by the Church and obvious, any revelation or vision that goes against the faith. Approval, if ever of the current messages from Heaven are years away. I am not waiting, God’s words today also strengthen our faith.
I can post once more, links to the daily current messages, a couple Catholic and Protestant links. Say a prayer of discernment before you read them. The current messages are more urgent and more explicit and...
The current messages are not off, they do not contradict approved Catholic private revelation from the past. And if you think a current message doesn’t seem right, let it go. There aren’t that many messengers and it’s happening, the Catholic prophets, I don’t know about the Protestant, quite a few have received their final message.
Protestants are stuck on the heresies, no matter how much
we show them with Scripture, their same objections
continue. We love them, they’ve got to realize finally, God wants us all to believe the same. Our discussion will be remembered when divine events take place. I hope.
blessings,
p.s. Experiencing the Great Warning, the NDE like life
review, remember, when disbelievers, seculars reject it,
only God can show you every moment of your life.

Kevin Barrett claims that they are a personal message to him from Christ. Before the words of the message are even divulged, they are false.
If Kevin Barrett says that he believes that his own particular interpretation of the Bible leads him to these words, that is one thing. Claiming that they are a direct message from God is quite another.
The asylums are full of people who issue messages that may coincide in part with the teachings of the Church and of Christ, but the manner in which they claim authority is wrong.
A man's personal revelation is his alone. Its validity can be judged by the Church. Has it?
This is demonstrably false from Church history. You have made wild claims such as the idea that Jesus founded specifically the Roman Catholic Church and the others broke away under their own authority.
False. Why not browse the Vatican archives for the truth?
Fair enough. Manny Pacquiao is Catholic...

Daaaah, every true Prophet has said, this message is from
Our Lord.
The words from Christ to Kevin Barrett are not false, that’s
why for the umpteenth time you won’t post them and comment
as to exactly where the error is in them.
You reject God is speaking to us through His chosen prophets every day, Catholic and Protestant. your loss brother. The current messages from Heaven are saying the same as Lourdes, Fatima, Akita. There is one end time, God is preparing Catholics and Protestants.
A message to Phyllis Ford, Jesus speaks of the Eucharist,
in the New Covenant, the bread come down from Heaven that
we consume is not Manna, it is Our Lord in the most Holy Eucharist.
excerpt Message to Phyllis Ford

To My Chosen
To those of you who have served without looking for anything in return, I say to you prepare, for promotion will come and manifest in ways that you have ever fathom. You will enter into a place of divine supply even in the midst of an approaching famine. Know that I am making your way so that you will help prepare the way for others. I salute the times that you have pressed in for the sake of others so that they could be saved, filled and comforted. Your very compassion will bring forth great miracles and you will walk in me without reservation, without questionspossessing the land, the oil, the wine AND THE BREAD THAT COMES DOWN FROM THE HEAVENS. Hold on I am coming for you and yes there is a coming forth—before the coming.
John 6:32-35
Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say to you; Moses gave you not bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. [33] For the bread of God is that which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life to the world. [34] They said therefore unto him: Lord, give us always this bread. [35] And Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger: and he that believeth in me shall never thirst.
