Iscool: God did not identify the Trinity...
You say God is three persons...You are wrong again...God is a Spirit...Look it up in the scriptures.or another one
1l1f1b: Modalism teaches, the Father is God, Jesus is the Father and the Holy Spirit is the Father.
Iscool: Well guess what...That's what the bible teaches...
Jesus said that if you've seem me, you've seen the Father...Jesus said I and the Father are one..
Is this what you believe too, boatbums?
Jesus was sitting on or in God...Perhaps the Throne is more like a couch that has more than three spots for sitting
But then some bumptious ones will support any kind of interpretation -- even this, or Mormonism or unitarianism....
Is this what you believe too, boatbums?
Interesting -- why don't you ask iscool about that -- when he says here is no infant bapatism in the NT...To call infant baptism biblical is to tell a lie...Anyone that can read can see there is no infant baptism in the bible
So, boatbums, how come no peep from you about others "making such a big production"?
isn't it a bit hypocritical?
make that very h.
ok, so is it true what Iscool said : The theme of the Bible is not salvation for mankind....?
Why don’t you post the entire conversation instead of little snippets???
You saved posts of mine from years ago??? What are you, a stalker???
We’ve all watched you try the same dishonest tactics on metmom and others in the past...
Guess that’s all you got...When you can’t defend yourself, you make up stories about other people to get the focus off you...
Never works...
I believe you are adding words to my post...Post the thread and the post to prove you are not lying...
It's sort of the equivalent of, “If you're so smart how come you ain't rich?” argument. Who needs that?
If someone really wanted to debate some doctrine like the trinity then ground rules could be set in advance but I doubt very many would submit to that. More fun to make snide remarks and ill hidden insults.
I’ve had that happen to me more than once by more than one Catholic.
You look up your own flip-flopping posts. I can’t link to specific post as per Forum rules.
When someone’s posts claim at different times that they are Catholic, modalist, Trinitarian, etc. etc., what does it say?
Boatbums says "Perhaps if these dialogs can be seen for what they really are - a discussion of different beliefs - and not a war that requires choosing sides" --> hmmm..
Note -- I said ONLY. There can be dialogue with such a person
And, if a person plays games with what they believe and rather only spend time to insult YOUR belief, then no dialogue, no debate is possible
We’ve had sensible conversations where you, cyc were talking about your beliefs on the nature of God. I don’t agree with you, but you’re both honest about what you believe on that and don’t spend each post with putting a little barb. with you a debate is possible.
one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
and believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
We Christians believe that for our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
We Christians believe that He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. The One Church,
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen
Now if you don't believe that He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father then explain why.
My comments were not directed to either “side” of any question or to any group but rather the general tone these threads take.
Look at the discussion of baptism here, something Paul called an elementary or basic doctrine. Stand back when the fists are flying!
Jesus was not speaking of your one Catholic religion when speaking thru the prophets...
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
Your one baptism is the baptism of John...That is not the one baptism spoken of in the scriptures...
If you want to be honest, then tell us if you believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. and believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God
Here's honest for ya: If you were a student of the scriptures instead of a student of your religion, you would know that the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Father are all referred to as Lord in one place or another in the scriptures...I believe in all three Lords...
AND, Jesus Christ is not the only son of God...Jesus is the only BEGOTTEN Son of God...Major fail on your part...
Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven
Not even close...
Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
I showed you the scripture that proves we Gentiles were awarded salvation for the purpose of making 'his own' jealous which you denied...Do you still deny it???
We Christians believe
And you have the audacity to call yourselves Christians...
Most of your man made creed here is unbiblical and unChristian...As your religion makes obvious in it's creed, your religion has no idea what God really says...Your obvious (to me) ignorance of scripture is astounding...I have no interest in your philosophical religious creed...
Words such as "false" "error" "wrong" do not attribute motive.
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
Also, since you specifically asked for proof of Cronos' claim, then I will not pull his answer to your challenge if it contains links to other threads.
But leave it at that, this is not an ok to carry arguments generally from thread to thread.
So whatever happened to being eternally sacrificed in heaven, which the celebration of the mass is supposed to be participating in? We've been saying for a long time that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the Father and NOT being sacrificed eternally in heaven.
And who are you that you seem to think you can demand answers of others or that we have to answer you?
All for what? So some anonymous internet poster can determine if we're *Christian* (or Christian enough) based on some arbitrary standards they set up?
Find someone else to play. Nobody is providing any information for you to use to sit there and pass judgment on them.
Get over yourself.
lol
