LOL. I’ll never forget the reaction of my pastor when I gave him the SoS verses we wanted read at our wedding..”These aren’t going to embarass me are they?”

BTW it was:

My beloved spoke, and said to me:

“ Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell.
Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away!”

~Song of Solomon 2:10-13

I am chuckling for there have been many Catholic girls vie for the Miss USA title, in fact, one from our local area. Never was there such a big spread about the Catholic girl as far as I can remember.

Funny!

Funny...What I notice about the article is that it talks about a beautiful woman who unashamedly proclaims her faith in Christ, knowing the venue in which she goes. She proudly wears the title CHRISTIAN.

Does it really matter what "denomination" or church she goes to?

Does being OR NOT being Catholic make her any less or more Christian than another.

This article is about A CHRISTIAN, proclaiming Christ, unafraidedly, going into the arena, where other Christians have been attacked an shreaded. Thats all this article is about.

Is it really important about denominational differences?

This is just a person blog. What about national newspapers and magazines that talk about "Catholic" beauty queens and their stand on abortion.

I'm a Chrisitan. Unashamedly.

I'm not Catholic. Does my support of someone proclaiming Christ and the protection of unborn human life, stop because they are Catholic?

Does your support of someone proclaiming Christ and the sanctity of marriage, stop because they are not Catholic?

Why would that make you chuckle, if you want to post a thread on a contestant just do it.

I backed my position up with multiple scriptures.

You presented ONE.

And that ONE was out of context, all to substansiate your view. And STILL no rebutal to my posting.

My accusation stands

The article is about a beautiful woman in a beauty pageant, Who is openly a self proclaimed Christian, and unapologetic about it, in a venue that can be openly hostile and ruthless to ANY Christians, unknown or up front.

You say you're not holier than thou, and yet you're attacking a beautiful woman, who admits to her own beauty AND YET, who proclaims Christ and her following of him, OVER her beauty, in a venue that WORSHIPS beauty and denigrates Christians, or anybody who tries to uphold morals.

I could have "understood" the attack if this was a piece on a beauty queen who was espousing Christian platitudes just to garner her favorability or fame. Instead, I see this as an article trying to boost and encourage a woman of beauty and substance, and you looking for a way, ANY WAY, to assasinate her, because she doesn't fit YOUR ideal.

Yeah, quoting from Solomon could have made that wedding quite memorable.

To go from a Solemn occasion...To a Solomon occasion.

Green eyes - I'm a sucker for hot chicks with green eyes.

Ever see the movie One Night With The King?

Extremely well done. Most "Christian" movies are poorly written, poorly directed and poorly acted.

We watch them because they are "christian" movies.

ONWTK is different. I think it is Hollywood quality and can hold peoples attention on its own merit.

Come to think of it. I haven't seen it in awhile. Its Saturday night. A good night for a movie. Maybe I'll order a pizza and dig out One Night With The King.

The female form is a beautiful thing, and, setting St. Timothy's personal opinions and 2000-year old cultural mores aside, I don't think it is necessary to hide such a thing at all times.

A man can gaze upon the female form, and appreciate its beauty, without overtly lusting.

Let's leave the hyper-Puritan attitude regarding women's attire to the Muslims, and consign it to the dustbin of history.

I don't know about "softer" facial features being superior. I guess her face is somewhat angular, but she surely is a stunning beauty, with or without the excessive airbrushing.

And as for her breasts being fake, I just don't think there's enough information to draw a definitive conclusion...

If you were married to her, do you think they would bother you?

I know my answer.

Thank you, You are a true FRiend.

I have always carried a torch for Laura Prepon

...AND she's Conservative. AAANNNNDDD a pro-gun celeb.

Her co-star Mila Kunis get's a half point for having at least one green eye - the other is brown. And she gets another 2 points for being an outspoken anti-commie.

If God wanted women to dress plain, why did he make most of them look so hot?

Concur. At issue is where each breast joins the upper chest -- artificial breasts tend to have a "cusp" -- a discontinuous first derivative of the tangent to the skin surface where the breast first appears; natural breasts tend to have a slightly concave join with a continuous first derivative.

For the non mathematical among you, it's the difference between a natural breast "hanging" and a balloon "bulging".

Incidentally, a mathematical description of the perfect breast -- from the perspective of a plastic surgeon -- is given here.

Cheers!

Maureen O'Hara
Connie Selleca
Giada DeLaurentiis
Lauren Elaine Edelsen

My first time remembering Maureen Ohara, was seeing an old movie on TV, in the early '80's called "At Swords Point" another of my Favorites is her with John Wayne in "McClintock"

Connie Selleca had brief stardom in the early to mid '80's, until she gave it up for family life after marrying John Tesh.

Giada De laurentiis, is the granddaughter of Dino De Laurentiis, but more notably is a star chef on Food Network...YUUUUUUMMMMMMMM

Lauren Elaine is a model. My most notable notice of her is in the Dierks Bentley video "What Was I Thinking". (Check it out on Youtube.)

I would never rebuke Gods word concerning Christian liberty, but I would definitely come alongside a professing christian and reason with her that dressing immodesty damages the body of Christ and may tempt her brothers-in Christ to sin. If you love others, namely your sisters and brothers in Christ, you are a good role model for other woman and dress modestly, to leave no room for the enemy. 1 Tim 2:9

Because my opinion differs from yours does not make me narrow minded, I believe that christian women should dress modestly to honor God, themselves and their brothers in Christ. If a young woman were to search google what images would she find of this professing christian?

I believe that christian women should dress modestly to honor God, themselves and their brothers in Christ.

In general, I do too but read Matthew 12:1-12. We should not be like the Pharisees (where I get my "narrow-minded" comment) who place the strictness of the Law above the principle of Christ.

This woman probably believes that she can reach more people for Christ as a beauty pageant contestant than a modestly-dressed burger-flipper at McDonalds. Maybe she doesn't even like showing off so much skin but sees it as a sacrifice she needs to make for the greater goal of holding a prestigious title and using it to gain access for reaching others.

If a woman felt led to work at Hooters as a way to reach people for the Lord, who are we to say Christ cannot use her in such a capacity just because of the way she has to dress to get the job?

That's why I brought up Tim Tebow. He is reaching a lot of people as an NFL quarterback but, to do that, he also has to work on Sunday, something that some believers (maybe not you) believe is disobeying God's word.

Jesus tells us to "do good" and sometimes doing good means bending a few other places of Scripture. That's what I believe this young woman is doing in dressing in such a way as to win a beauty title.

And if she succeeds, and if she truly loves Christ, God will be glorified in her success and who are we to judge that as wrong?
