...I'm in Massachusetts right now for a wedding...If it's a MORMON wedding, and a TEMPLE one at that; then ONLY about 15% of the ELITE members of MORMONdom would actually be able to WITNESS that wedding.
Are you in that group?
If not, then you and all the lesser folks will just have to wait outside until the stylized ritual is complete.

No lets get this straight, I am trying to point out to ignorant purveyors of bigotry that I can as easily defame things about Martin Luther as others can defame early Mormons. No doubt you can; but this thread is not ABOUT ML or early MORMONs; but about the HERESY that calls itself mormonISM.
Do you have any thoughts about the THEOLOGY being discussed?

I read the article posted, including that Mormons do not accept many of these quotes as true tenets of their faith, but then there is a long explanation of how they must be attributed to Mormonism nonetheless.Considering the FACT that MORMOINism TAUGHT these 'things' and EMBRACED them and have NEVER repudiated or denied them; what else is a logical thinking person to conclude?

Hey, dont forget Mormons dont smoke ... whos gonna pay for childrens healthcare. They also dont imbibe caffeine, meaning coffee and colas will be banned. You wont be able to do the dew.Where DO you find this information?
In their SCRIPTURES??
THE
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
SECTION 89
Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Kirtland, Ohio, February 27, 1833. HC 1: 327329. As a consequence of the early brethren using tobacco in their meetings, the Prophet was led to ponder upon the matter; consequently he inquired of the Lord concerning it. This revelation, known as the Word of Wisdom, was the result. The first three verses were originally written as an inspired introduction and description by the Prophet.
19, Use of wine, strong drinks, tobacco, and hot drinks proscribed; 1017, Herbs, fruits, flesh, and grain are ordained for the use of man and of animals; 1821, Obedience to gospel law, including the Word of Wisdom, brings temporal and spiritual blessings.
1
A aWord OF Wisdom, for the benefit of the council of high priests, assembled in Kirtland, and the church, and also the saints in Zion
2 To be sent greeting; not by commandment or constraint, but by revelation and the
aword of wisdom, showing forth the order and
bwill of God in the temporal salvation of all saints in the last days
3 Given for a principle with
apromise, adapted to the capacity of the
bweak and the weakest of all
csaints, who are or can be called saints.
4 Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of
aevils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of
bconspiring men in the last days, I have
cwarned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this
word of wisdom by revelation
5 That inasmuch as
any man adrinketh bwine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him.
6 And, behold, this should be wine, yea,
apure wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make.
7 And, again,
astrong drinks are not for the belly,
but for the washing of your bodies.
8 And again, tobacco is not for the
abody, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill.
9 And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.
10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome
aherbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man
11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with
aprudence and
bthanksgiving.
12 Yea,
aflesh also of
bbeasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used
csparingly;
13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be
aused, only in times of winter, or of cold, or
bfamine.
14 All
agrain is ordained for the use of man and of beasts, to be the staff of life, not only for man but for the beasts of the field, and the fowls of heaven, and all wild animals that run or creep on the earth;
15 And
athese hath God made for the use of man only in times of famine and excess of hunger.
16 All grain is good for the
afood of man; as also the
bfruit of the vine; that which yieldeth fruit, whether in the ground or above the ground
17 Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox, and oats for the horse, and rye for the fowls and for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and barley for all useful animals, and for mild drinks, as also other grain.
18 And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments,
ashall receive
bhealth in their navel and marrow to their bones;
20 And shall
arun and not be
bweary, and shall walk and not faint.
21 And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the
adestroying angel shall
bpass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.

Why advise me to avoid religious posts because I disagreed with posters who want to show how awful Mormonism is?Because you stated earlier...
IOW I dont give a rats rear about Mormonism.
...and now here you are evidently caring SOMETHING about MORMONism.

Further, I have been debating with others who though not Catholic, seek to further educate me that Mormonism is a threat to Catholic Orthodoxy. The 'threat' is to human souls; that they'll be led astray and lost.
Catholic Orthodoxy does NOT want that to happen - can we agree on that?

IF we are to hold everyone accountable for the earliest writings of their religion, I respectfully suggest that a Jew, Catholic or Mormon can find serious flaws in the writings and behavior of Martin Luther.Say stuff like this about Joseph Smith (pbuh) and you'll be label as a Hateful bigot.

My suggestion is that fundamentalist christians who are hung up on Mormonism are not going to be supporters of Catholics or Jews. Why do you 'suggest' this?
Have you something against FUNDAMENTAL things?

Now that you have clarified that you beleive people who expose mormonISM are anti-Semitic, our conversation is over. It's not really that clear to me.
'SUGGESTION' implies to me that there may be some reasonings for the linkage; but since it is presented in such a vague way; it's hard for me to pass judgement at this time.

I can invite them in for coffee. If it's COLD; they can drink it.
But please; do not torture them by inviting them to a backyard barbeque in warm weather!

Actually, it's a Methodist wedding, full of Northeastern liberal mainstream Methodists. I would prefer to have any randomly selected Mormon as President over most of these people, any day.
However, I am staying at a Marriott, Elsie. That send a chill down yer spine??

My thought about the theology being discussed is that you are disingenuous to critique Mormon theology versus “traditional” christianity which is listed as including Roman Catholics, when in fact your concerns about the theology of Mormonism eventually would by necessity cause you to equally denounce Catholic theology. Further that you are intolerant as regards Mormonism. Furter, that Mormonism is not a serious threat to traditional christianity. Finally, that the discussion is really intolerance and paranoia wrapped in a candy coating of theological discourse. The average Catholic has much more to fear or resent in protestantism and that ought to be obvious from even the shallowest knowledge of history and theology. That is, IF one decides to live a life worrying about the orthodoxy of others, rather than in celebration of American religious freedom. I choose to value religious freedom.

Just wondering, by what possible right do you purport to speak for the Pope? You are not Catholic yet you seem to fantasize that you speak for and can pronounce judgment on all religions. You do not.

So, what is the point of writing about Mormon theology? The point is to counter the anti-Christian flood of mormon propaganda spread over the world by 52,000 missionaries, and countless mormon websites, radio and TV ads attempting to pull souls away from Christianity into the mormon heresy.
After watching Romney's support of abortion and his nasty, dirty tearing down of the other republican candidates I do not agree that he is a "moral" man.
