2. Sola Scriptura. nuf said.Therein lies the dichotomy. You question a nun's habit because you're unable to find it's basis in Scripture and then in attempting to justify the question profess a belief in a man made doctrine that isn't found in Scripture.
That's quite the corner you've painted yourself into.

Good grief, their faces are showing! A burqa covers up a woman’s identity. Habits don’t.

It was the first example of Christ from Scripture that spoke to service.
I suppose I could have used the story of Martha and Mary having Jesus as their guest, if that would have made you happier. LOL!

I have no idea how that relates to my posts or to the thread subject.

Love your post Vince. The habit is the outward affirmation of her commitment to Christ. Wearing the habit eschews the trappings of the material world and it’s influences. A nun in habit represents and communicates to the world the wonderful vocation, work and mission of her order. I recall as a young girl those who chose Holy Orders were proud to wear the clothing, that habit that so defined them.

I'm not a Catholic but I strongly support idea of nuns wearing habits, pastors wearing robes, etc. I am reminded of when God instructed Moses to make the tunic and robes for Aaron. God told Moses the following:
Exd 28:2 Make sacred garments for your brother Aaron, to give him dignity and honor.
We lose the idea of the dignity and honor of the office when everyone dresses like everyone else.

This is wisdom. Thank you.

Yes. One more vote for habits.

And I seem to be missing the scriptural teaching that says that religious dress and all religious practices must be stated explicitly in scripture.
