We do not wear Crosses because to do so would be to celebrate the murder weapon that killed Jesus.

Gal. 6:14
Eph. 2:16
1 Cor. 1:18
Col. 1:20
Col. 2:14
1 Pet. 2:24
John 3:14-15

Yes, the cross is a horrible device. Our eternal life depends on it, since he bore our sins there.

lds do not wear crosses or display crosses because mormonism teaches the lds jesus paid the price in the garden.
lds do not wear crosses or display crosses because mormonism is in no way related to Christianity.
lds do not wear crosses or display crosses because the cross means little to nothing in mormonism.

So because the apostle Paul "gloried" in the cross..."boasted" in the cross (Galatians 6:14)...you are accusing him of celebrating the murder weapon that killed Jesus?

Really? Are you consistent with that? If you get to heaven, will you lodge that accusation directly to the apostle Paul's face?

Here's the verse:

14But God forbid that I should GLORY, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. (Apostle Paul, Galatians 6:14, KJV)

Same verse, NIV version: May I never BOAST EXCEPT except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Surely you jest? Didn’t Christ say we all take up our Cross and follow him? And that Cross is a reminder of our path to salvation.

You don’t understand then why the cross is worn by Christians, then.

Jesus was victorious over the cross. By Jesus’ resurrection, He proved that He was who He claimed He was, eternal God, God the Son, manifest in the flesh. And because He rose again, we can trust Him in everything He has promised us. When He says to trust in Him and we will have eternal life with Him, we can be certain we will have that, because Jesus IS who He says He is. He is God, the eternal Son of God.

Now, if Jesus died on the cross, and did not rise again, then I could see your point.

“We do not wear Crosses because to do so would be to celebrate the murder weapon that killed Jesus.”

Actually, mormons don’t “celebrate the murder weapon” because they do not read the scriptures. The cross
is as foolish to mormonism as any non-Christian group.

Instead, they celebrate sweat.

We do not wear Crosses because to do so would be to celebrate the murder weapon that killed Jesus.

That's a logical reason but it is a bit like liberals and gun control.

Guns don't kill of themselves. They are a convenient tool for people who kill, who have to use blades and bludgeoning tools and poison and fire without the convenience of guns.

A wooden cross didn't leap up and kill Christ or fall over on him. Romans killed Christ as demanded by the hateful populace. I don't blame the inanimate cross for what the Romans and the people caused any more than I blame the inanimate gun for what a criminal does.

There were lots of ways the Romans could have killed Christ without a cross. If he was eaten by a lion, would you then hate lions?

In fact if you want to point to the true murder weapon, it would be the blade the Roman centurion used to puncture Christ's side, spilling his blood and water. The priests requested that Christ be killed so as not to die on the Sabbath Day, and so the Romans fulfilled their request by stabbing him with a blade.

So feel free to wear a cross, since a sword was used to finish off our Savior, the Son of God.

My post is somewhat facetious in that I can show that anything is prohibited or anything is allowable, if I just dig hard enough or rationalize long enough, or find the right conflicting reading of the Scripture. And I fully know that my post holds nothing for you but comedy and you won't listen to it or feel it holds any truth.

Other than that, Happy Easter to you, though you don't celebrate it. HE IS RISEN!

You have no clue at how insulting that statment is, not just to Christians but to Christ.

The Cross is the CENTER of Christianity because it is where Christ paid for our sins by shedding his blood, not the garden. Jesus never said ‘take up your garden and follow me’. Everything before, during and after Christ’s earthly mission points to the Cross.

Do I celebrate the Cross? Only in that I celebrate that it is how God died to pay for my sins, I rejoice that Jesus loved me enough to suffer on the cross so I can be reconciled to him, by faith not works.

I will give you props for being honest about Mormon teaching rather than downplaying it or lying like some other LDS I know.

Here are the lyrics to a Christian hymn that shows how Christians celebrate the cross. To not do so, is to dismiss the wonder and love of Christ in dying for us.

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

His dying crimson, like a robe,
Spreads o’er His body on the tree;
Then I am dead to all the globe,
And all the globe is dead to me.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
