I am Catholic.
But, what difference would that make?
I care about ISSUES and I care about defeating Obama.
Some here have huge egos, but not much common sense about political strategy.
Politics is the art of the possible.
Also, you win in politics by GROWING your numbers, not by trying to kick other people OUT of your Party.
I voted against Romney, therefore I voted for Santorum, as Gingrich had NO CHANCE in Kansas.
In November, I will VOTE AGAINST OBAMA, which means I will vote for the Republican Nominee.
A vote for ANYONE other than the GOP candidate IS a vote for Obama.

So you’ve already done your best to keep a believer in some wild heresy out of the White House.

Good, as now your stance is to elimnate the Socialist we have now - I can better understand where you are coming from.

If Romney IS the Pub’s ‘choice’ then I am going to be highly torn between a known Evil (which is exposing itself more and more) and a relatively UNKNOWN one that will get MASSIVE exposure between the Republican Convention and Election Day.

Great side-by-side comparisons ... and accurate!

To: Kansas58; All
I also caution you that we will need Mormon votes, in November, no matter who gets the Nomination. It does the Conservative movement great harm to persist in religious arguments, if the point is to “kick Mormons out” of the Republican Party.

Kansas58...ALL...note the assumptive language Kansas58 continually appeals to...

...Essentially, it's an assumption that...
...Christians are s'possed to have thick theological skin; Mormons aren't.

Allow me to explain...

Your concern expressed here, Kansas, is that Mormons would somehow feel marginalized politically due to theological concerns expressed about them.

So let's "reverse engineer" this "logic" for a moment:

Somehow Mormons -- for 180 years -- can publish MILLIONS & MILLIONS of worldwide "scriptures," curricula, articles, multi-media, online presentations, missionary door-to-door presentations...and label EVERY Christian as a "corrupt," heart-wandering "apostate" filled with 100% abominable creeds as part of the devil's church...

Here's a chart I put up in a previous thread: Title: A Primer of How Lds founder Joseph Smith Launched His Campaign of Open Bigotry vs. Worldwide Christianity, Engaging in Scorched-Earth Religious Politics [Post #7] -- complete with the final row which has a link directly to an Lds online and published resource: Our Heritage: A Brief History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, p. 116, 1996

Here's the quote from that official lds resource linked: “In 1952…the first official proselyting plan was sent to missionaries throughout the world…It included seven missionary discussions that emphasized…[four topics, one of them being]…the Apostasy and Restoration…” [This makes it almost 60 years that Mormon church missionaries, now numbering 52,000, have formally emphasized in its training & door to door saturation a priority in bashing the worldwide Christian church as “apostates” (100% AWOL)]

So, 'BREAKING NEWS' 4U Kansas58...READ CAREFULLY:

#1 There's ALREADY BEEN a 180-year schism 'tween Mormonism & Christianity...and guess, what? The Mormon church started it!

The fact is, Kansas58, that Joseph Smith's first vision already attempted to squeeze our neck veins into breathing silence. He dug a gigantic graveyard for the worldwide Christian church, declared our...
...joinability null & void,
...ALL our creeds as an "abomination" to his god,
...and the heritage of our professing believers as 100% corrupt [see Joseph Smith History, vv. 18-19 of Pearl of Great Price]
The real question, then, Kansas is: "Do you & Freepers of like mind agree with these three Smithian assessments of Christians & the Christian church?"...

The reality is that a LOT of FREEPER threads focus on the already-existing wall between Romney and voter bases...this includes that 180-year schism begun by Romney's Mormon church (no FREEPER created that; it already exists).

So, if this is a "wall of 'alienation'" you're referencing, about some great potentiality of "splitting up" a Mormon-Christian party "marriage" well, ya just have flunked @ history.

#2 If Christians are not overly strained by Mormonism's slander of Christians, Mormons can grow thicker skin:

(a) To repeat: I know what the avg. Mormon believes about me. I know they don’t tolerate ANY of my creeds (their ‘good book’ & their leaders tell 'em those are automatically 100% abominable!)

I know many don't seem to perceive Christ’s righteousness in me (their ‘good book’ tells them I’m automatically ‘corrupt’).

I know they don’t respect our faithfulness to Christ and His church (their leaders & ‘good book’ tell them we’re all "apostates")

BUT, BUT...despite knowing all these walls Mormons have had in place for 180 years…does it keep me from linking up with a Mormon to oppose abortion, homosexual agenda, nationalized healthcare, higher taxes, working with youth as Boy Scout troop leaders, etc. etc ??? (No!)

So, if your "party eviction" comment covers this so-called "separation" -- how is it that I and other Christians are able to work around Mormon-built walls, but somehow you think it's too "divisive" for Mormons to do the same in reverse?

I already know our beliefs are different. But somehow the wall-high belief system Mormons have about Christians is something we can stomach as we work with grassroots Mormons to some agree – but somehow they can’t do the same in reverse? Why not, Hodar?

(b) Lopsided, one-sided appeal to 'political unity': What I don't understand, is that apparently on matters that mean much to you or to Mormons – the putting forth of "my cause, my agenda" – the appeal will be made to "unity" so that we can ride on a common surfboard cuttin’ thru rough waters.’

Yet, when it comes to discussing biblical matters that mean much to us–-
--for example, the Great Commission in life, our mission, truth-telling...
...these things are all supposed to be submerged -- and only by Christians? (Not by Mormons?) (Why can't you at least try to hold them in balance and give them at least equal weight?)

Bottom line: If I can get along with Mormons who reference me as an
..."apostate" "corrupt" believer
...who belongs to the "church of the devil" -- a false and dead church --
...who supposedly believes in "abominable" creeds --
...then I don't think I can come up with as much to match just that one press conference re: this Florida pastor's accurate description of Mormonism.

Therefore, to some degree on pushing common socio-political objectives, things should be relatively hunky-dory.

mormonism is not conservative. There maybe individual mormons who are but the belief system is not.
Romney and BHO are nearly identical:
both promote abortion
both promote homosexual agenda
both promote government mandates
both promote big government
both promote gun grabs
both promote man made global warming
Romney is a liberal - it is that simple.
Romney is a liberal because he is a mormon - it is that simple.

I doubt that Romney has any secret deals with Moscow.

Obama wants to disarm America.

Before you enter into a quasi defense of Romney and his mormonism, it would serve you well to learn what mormonism actually is.

You are on a mission that makes no sense to me.

I do not intend to be a Mormon.

I am well aware of the reasons that I do not want to be a Mormon.

However? I do want Mormons to vote conservatively, in all elections.

And, I do believe that Jesus had a point, in the parable of the “good Samaritan”. Jesus made clear that, at times, those who were not of the same faith as us might do the right thing, when those of our own faith FAIL!

You will be judged, as will I.

Part of that judgment will be based on how well we accepted God's instructions to make disciples of all nations. You are not trying to recruit Mormons to true Christianity, you are only insulting them and damning them.

I would vote for a Buddhist or a Hindu, over the Marxist tyrant we have now, as long as that Buddhist or Hindu was opposed to Marxism.

Oh, I get that it makes no sense to you otherwise you would not be defending mormonism.
I can not damn anyone, people go to hell or Heaven of their own free will.
God Almighty has told us to call out false prophets and to judge everything against the Word of Almighty God.
The only thing I am not permitted to judge is a persons heart.
What I am trying to impart to you because you are voting/supporting Romney is that he is who he is because of his mormonism and unless you know what mormonism is, you will not understand who Romney is.
Yes, it is that simple.
