A person who has been married, and even though divorced, commits adultery in the eyes of the Catholic Church.

Oops, I didn’t finish that — when they remarry they commit adultery.

I still don't see how God would hold something against a person over what their spouse did.

If a spouse left a marriage to pursue another relationship/affair and the person they left was innocent why would God say the innocent spouse committed adultury when they would remarry.

If a spouse of one of your grandchildren committed murder and was thrown in prison the rest of their life, your grandchild is supposed to never remarry?

The Christian faith's cornerstone is forgivness of sin's. So God is still going to never forgive these people even though they may have truly repented from having an affair and getting remarried. That just does not make sense.
