Britain's late Princess Diana has been posthumously baptised a Mormon.
The royal - who was killed in a Paris car crash in August 1997 - was 'baptised' by the church after her death, even though she didn't belong to the religion.
Diana - former wife of heir to the throne Prince Charles - was listed by her maiden name, Diana Frances Spencer, with her address as the family seat of Althorp, Northamptonshire.
Her file also includes her birth and death date, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
Other late stars to have been 'baptised' posthumously include Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth.
The Mormon Church believes that in the afterlife no one is beyond redemption, no matter how evil they were, so the list also includes Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
Helen Radkey has been investigating the Mormon Church - which is one of the world's fastest growing religions with 14 million followers, almost half in the US.
Using a computer log-on passed to her by a disaffected follower, she researched the databases in the Church's Family History Library and found that the names of hundreds of thousands of dead people had been logged, so they could be baptised as Mormons.
I think an interesting measure of Mormonism and whether it is evil, is the devotion that our few atheists here give to it.
Look at how they flock to this thread like moths.
Let’s stop feeding D-small-manA.
He is just here to be contrarian and push buttons.
That’s how he find relevancy for being here.
They indulge in foolish ceremonies. So what. How does that hurt me? How does that hurt you?
Being a thing is a choice of volition and Mormons are appending others lives without any regard for anyone's feelings regarding their religion, beliefs and practices.
You dont care.
That’s my point. Why do you?
No one needs to feel they are victims of Mormons. Just laugh at them.
Hmmm...and I thought God forgiving others was the "business" -- the Good News -- for others...just as this forgiveness was announced to the world about the Ephesians at the church there:
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God FORGAVE you. (Ephesians 4:32)
Sorry, DManA...forgiveness is based upon...
...a this-world act (Jesus dying on the cross in THIS world)...
...and a this-world trust exercised (our trusting Jesus)...
After that: It's appointed for man to die once, and then the judgment." (Heb. 9:27)
It's not for men to die once, get another offer extended from Mormon missionaries in the spirit world, and then the judgment. [Unless you think the book of Hebrews' writer just wasn't "in the know"]
Really, you think the offense is against the dead? Do you think the world of shock and outrage from people when they learn what is being done them after death, and to their loved ones, is being expressed by dead people?
You think that the people posting their disgust and outrage on this thread are dead, these are the living, the people being stalked and knowing that the cult of our leading Presidential candidate, Bishop Romney, who leads and participates in these wicked cult practices will use our loved ones and ourselves in their twisted cult practice, speaking for us, using our names, having actors stand in for us.
We don’t have to sheepishly stand by and let them use our dead children and mothers this way, especially as one of their high leaders is running for president.
How could you interpret what I said as defending Mormon’s view of salvation.
Let me try to lay it out more clearly.
Mormon’s view of salvation is blasphemy. Mormonism is mostly blasphemy.
It is not up to you to condemn Hitler’s soul to hell. I don’t want ANYONE to go to hell and neither does GOD.
The people who are communicating all this to unsuspecting, innocent families are evil.
They are trying to cover their evil deeds by saying it’s ‘for the good of the families’.
The only thing they’ve done is caused already grieving familes further harm, and I wouldm’t doubt it gives them a thrill. Kind of like telling you your mother was a whore after the funeral.
How do they learn about it? They don’t learn about it from the Mormons.
The LDS practice of baptism for the dead. Is simply a proxy baptism that requires of the deceased to accept the teachings in the afterlife.
How do they learn about it? They don’t learn about it from the Mormons.
For the record, I have no hatred of Mormons.
Yeah, some kid is here who doesn’t even really have a point of view, he just wants to get some attention.
Live people. The subject is dead people.
