To: Salvation

Bishop Supich of the Diocese of Spokane (Seattle Province, I believe) is conspicuous by his absence from the list, and by the total silence from the pulpit here. Like it never happened. 2+ weeks of crickets chirping.

I thought he would be a most-welcome breath of fresh air after his predecessor. And our pastor is a retired USAF chaplain!

Yet, they have the temerity to push for more donations to the Annual Catholic Appeal...my encouragement will consist of engaging their wallet.

Although our bishop of Los Angeles, Gomez, has put a letter about it in the diocesan newspaper, I have not heard anything from the pulpit. I don’t think our parish will say anything from the pulpit unless ordered to by the bishop. The pastor would not want to bring politics into mass, and would especially not want to ruffle feathers as a new building/improvement drive is kicking off.
