I remember coloring in the lions on the paper my Catechism teacher had handed out. The lions in the coliseum were approaching a group of huddled Catholics.
My CCD teacher asked us if we too were willing to suffer for our faith the way the martyrs of old did? I remember looking at those cartoon lions and deciding that yes, I very much had the stuff to stare down a cartoon lion. Easy.
But it’s easy to answer in the affirmative when we’re talking about cartoon lions. It’s different when we’re talking real life. Real lions have teeth.
And make no mistake, real life is what we’re talking now. We have a government that mandates what pro-life counselors must say. We have a government now that mandates that Catholic institutions pay for things it considers sinful. We have a government that now says the cost of being an American is to abandon Catholicism.
Bishop Fabian W. Bruskewitz of Lincoln, Nebraska in response to the Obama administration’s contraception mandate said, “We cannot and will not comply with this unjust decree. Like the martyrs of old, we must be prepared to accept suffering which could include heavy fines and imprisonment.”
This scares me but it’s true.
Now is the time when decisions must be made by Catholic college presidents and hospital administrators and the heads of all sorts of Catholic institutions. Should I do what the government tells me or what the Church tells me is right? Some whom we have great hope for will choose poorly. Some will stand up unexpectedly and refuse to comply with the government. And they will pay a price for being Catholic.
We’re no longer talking about the slippery slope here. We’ve walked off a cliff. We’re in free fall.

YES.
I had that poster.
Loved it. Not sure what happened to it back and forth across the Pacific.
May have given it to someone in China.
I gave a lot of my posters away there.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

PRAISE GOD.
Mary will bind both religions together during the tribulation.
Faith IN The Lord Jesus Christ is all that matters during this age of grace we are in. Once the rapture happens everything will hit the fan. NOW is the time to accept Christ before it is too late.

I used to be quite skeptical of that idea. No longer.
1. Start with the fallen angel staged event at Fatima.
2. Throw in a lot of other similar events.
3. Throw in layers upon layers upon layers of Deification of the Ashteroth-Mary-Goddess caractured figure . . . denied all the while they're doing exactly that.
4. Throw in the Muslim affections for Mary out of their demonic moon god theology and memes.
5. Throw in the Asian Kuan Yin Goddess of Heaven morphed by the fallen angels into the same Ashteroth-Mary-Goddess figure of the Vatican/Islamic cabal.
6. Throw in newly staged 'supernatural' events tailor-made to be tongue-in-groove, part and parcel of the 'historic' ones . . . by the same choreographers and technologists from hell . . .
7. That's probably 80-95% of the distance to the one world religion, right there.
8. Throw in a just barely ended staged WW3 and the fallen angel !DEMANDS! that all global citizens submit to
AND
B) A ONE WORLD RELIGION comprising those components . .
and
9. The citizens would be falling all over themselves to line up for the chip and their obligated kissing of Ashteroth-Mary-Goddess figure's toes . . . all conditioning and prep for not too much later, bowing prostrate before satan himself.
I almost got chills up and down my spine writing this. Anyone feel that way reading it?
Please bear in mind that this thread was entitled "Catholics, Get Ready to Suffer." CATHOLICS. There was no invitation by the original poster for posters to start talking about "horrifically blasphemous and UNBiblical outrages" or in other ways finding fault with Catholic doctrine. The article by its very title should scare all of us into holding our tongues about our disputes and differences--to say, "The atheists, the one-worlders, the leftists, the totalitarians are coming for all of us who believe in Christ, Catholic and Protestant alike; let's talk about what we can do together. As Franklin said, "We must all hang together, or assuredly we will hang separately."
Please, everyone, ask the Lord to take your anger away. Ask Him to help us focus on working together with our Catholic and Protestant brothers and sisters to fight the attacks of Satan. Don't let the Devil divide us; just resist that impulse to correct the doctrines of others. If people are going to go down what is in your view the wrong road, your language will not stop them. You witnessed your beliefs to them once or twice, and that's enough. Perhaps if you model Christian peace you can win them away from doctrine you think false. Perhaps not. But in any case you will not win them with invective.
Salvation told me the first pope was Simon Magnus?
The Holy Spirit is telling me we are in this phase now Quix. Just before the rapture. I do not know but, Thank God, God knows.

Sorry Simon Magus
magus
Wasn’t he the guy who offered money to Peter to give him the ability to lay hands on people and impart the Holy Spirit, from whence comes the term “simony”?
I agree with Quix on this. There is going to be some sort of religious system set up
May I ask you for more details? I don’t disagree with what you have said, but am curious as to your reasoning.
Satan is the father of lies, we are told. It would seem to me that unbelief would be more to his advantage. Believing in something - no matter what - would possibly open the hearts of the people to the truth.
Who was it who said “Satan’s biggest victory was convincing people he did not exist.” The quote I remember, but can never work out where it is from - C S Lewis maybe?
This is what I was asking in the Who is Simon thread. IMHO Yes. I do not know but, Thank God, God knows. Was He the first pope? not Simon Peter? I do not know but, Thank God, God knows
I MOSTLY
agree with you.
I will continue to pray about your well made points.
Yes.
I think that’s what Ugandan Pastor/evangelist John Mulinde described and shared so vulnerably and heart-rendingly in this sermon:
The hard hitting meat begins about minute 25-27 or so:

As the end of the 2nd century approached, the true Church of God in Rome had all but disappeared; and a LARGE COUNTERFEIT, UNIVERSAL CHURCH was firmly in place with a successive line of bishops or popes tracing their office back to NOT PETER but Simon Magus! The Catholic Church was founded on the PRIMACY OF SIMON MAGUS! Any church (Worldwide Church of God, Philadelphia Church of God included) that believes in the primacy of Peter and apostolic succession is knowingly (or unknowingly) following the system planted in Rome by SIMON THE MAGICIAN!
I watched the video a few days ago AWESOME!
The Mother of God stuff is huge!
I would urge you to study Ephesians 4 ... it plainly says that the basis of Christian unity is maturity resulting in correct doctrine. Correct doctrine has EVERYTHING to do with unity.
11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine ...
Maturity in Christ, and doctrine, go together ... that is why Catholics and Christians will never unite ... mature Christians recognize the doctrinal errors of Romanism and are not willing to abandon the truth of scripture for unity under any conditions.
Can we agree on abortion, homosexuality, a few other issues? Yeah ... but the gospel of Jesus Christ is taught in the pages of the New Testament alone ... not in the writings, precepts, or rituals of Rome.
The nature worshipers would fall right in line also.
They all worship a female deity , just by different names.
The world has always been drunk with female deities since Babel , they always have to get one in there some where .
BTW allah was once the name of female deity in the kabbah too , it was Mohammad that reproduced it as male.
All this has it’s roots in sun and moon worship.
INDEED.
