1 Timothy 2:5 ...one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
If there is a debate here then it must follow Bible Scriptures to advocate reproofs, corrections, and instructions on how God the Father has ordained and appointed someone other than HIS SON Christ Jesus as that mediator. In light of 1 Timothy 2:5 - there is no debate here since God's Word clearly points out that that mediator is is Christ Jesus, who has been appointed 2,000 years ago between God and men.
You posted that to me twice now.
And your point is?
And show me where I run to the mods *screaming* “asking personal questions” like you accused me of.
And just who are they? Do you have names? Links? ANYTHING?
But here it is again, .....
Ephesians 2:4-10 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christby grace you have been saved 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Romans 10:5-13 5 For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness based on faith says, Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 or Who will descend into the abyss? (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
8 But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame. 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
You probably do it subconsciously...
jesus
mediator
Virgin
Mary
For those of us on the outside (of your religion), it's all too obvious...
When the disciples (who would later become the apostles) asked the Lord Jesus to teach them how to pray, Christ taught them (and all Christians) to pray our prayers to God the Father:
“In this manner therefore pray: Our Father, who art in Heaven...” -Matthew 4:6
...in His (Christ’s) Name...
Later Christ clarified his teaching to pray to God the Father by saying that we should do so in His (Christ’s own) Name-—
“...I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments.” -John 14:12-15
...Christ Himself being our only mediator...
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus;” -I Timothy 2:5
Did God die on the Cross???
The Pope himself bows and prays before statues of Mary and the people do follow the man over and above Christ's warnings not to do such things.
As the day approaches Mary will take even more prominence in Catholicism as this 'goddess' already runs thru the the false and cult religions worldwide. Though they give her other names it would not take a great deal to see her as one once the people are sent the great delusion God will send....it is goddess worship and just as it united the people after God separated the people...so too will it unite them once again.
.......female goddess worship is the one common denominator among all cults and false religions from Hinduism to New Age, to various other faiths across the globe.
The all knowing, all wise Cronos doesn't seem to know that the warning in Leviticus is not referencing to talking to dead bodies in or out of the ground...It is referencing talking to spirits of dead people...Period...
ALL dead people have live spirits...Do not attempt to talk to any of them...Why??? Because you probably can't tell the difference between them...
And you certainly don't know if any of those you talk to are Christians, regardless of what you thought of them while they were alive...
AND, I thought all those dead Catholics were burning in purgatory??? How could they communicate with Jesus???
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
And you certainly don't know if any of those you talk to are Christians, regardless of what you thought of them while they were alive...
There is no legitimate, sanctioned method of contacting the spirits or souls of those who have passed on given to us, therefore any effort to do so can only leave someone open to deception from the spiritual realm.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
While Satan has no power over believers since greater is He who is in us, than he who is in the world, those who are not believers in Christ have no such protection and are susceptible to any kind of deception or attack.
I believe that's because they are trying to convince each other (and us) that you receive nothing; grace, mercy, salvation i.e., except thru Mary...
Basically, they think it's easier to get from or through Mary what God wouldn't give Himself if they directly asked Him themselves.
God as put forth by Catholicism is capricious and judgmental and you don't want to annoy Him. They consider it self-declaring your own whatever when you stand by the promises He made for believers, So the Scripture that He hears and answers our prayers, which Jesus Himself told us was the case, somehow don't really mean what they say and don't apply to them.
An open thread is open to all is it not? Could you point to the rule that we are to respond only to those who address us individually in open threads? I, for one would be interested in seeing that rule so not to violate it in the future.
That makes one wonder why they deny scripture?
Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Im not sure how they figure a person can get closer then dwell in you. Seems to me that the RCC is lying to Catholic lay.
Interesting that catholicism always reverts the attention away from Christ back to Mary, even when protesting that very thing.
It not only "can" but does leave individuals "open" to deceiving spirits...who long to be worshipped thru any enitity an individual might imagine is acceptable.
Jesus Christ is the "author" and "finisher" of our faith and our eyes are to remain "fixed" on Him. All entities presenting themselves as departed individuals are simply counterfeits, and it's a dangerous thing to toy on the edges of the dark side in believing otherwise.
It is not uncommon for people who have lost loved ones to imagine "seeing" or "hearing" from that loved one. It is a dissociative way to cope with the heartwretching loss. However they are in a weakened condition due to grief and the mind can and will play tricks at such time.
It's impossible there is a difference....because of the very warning God gives not to do that....to imagine otherwise or belive so is contrary to Gods clear instructions....
Beats me.....
It’s hard enough to understand the what, the why is beyond me when it comes to assigning places on a ladder of saints.
And unconsciously you ignore the Catholic teaching that Mary is just a creature of God.
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
