Whether someone agrees with the Catholic Church or not, anyone with an IQ higher than the recommended tire pressure on the sidewall of their auto tires should see that the Catholic Church and the way the government tries to bind and/or regulate the Catholic Church is the canary in the coal mine and has been ever since the number of Catholic in this country grew beyond about 10% of the population. Given that fact, anyone who ignores the current open government assault on the Catholic Church is ignoring what will be coming their way as well once the precedent is established against the Catholic Church in this country.
The democrat fascist party has had a long term, multi-generational goal, of excluding Catholics from politics as well as from any and all government jobs including the military. All you have to do is read about the attacks on the Catholic Church back in the eighteen seventies when the Catholic Church warned that public schools would lead to a Godless, secular society, to see the exact same attacks are being used today with only the definition of "the public good" having been changed to suit the relativistic humanism now in vogue among gullible dolts and ruling nobles. Back then, the fascist democrat party was quite successful in keeping the popular alternative of a voucher type system from being enacted and in doing so placed public schools squarely under the control of politicians rather than parents. If that isn’t convincing enough, read about the number of democrat elected officials who signed the KKK pledge to never hire a Catholic, Jew, or Negro, for a government job when they were running for office in the nineteen twenties riding another wave of only slightly modified lies to mislead that generation of the gullible into believing that no Jew and no Catholic should ever be in an elected office. Those that the fascist party makes sure are ostricised the fascist party then promises it will save them from that status of being outsiders.
The fact that these days there are so many non-Catholic denominations just means that there are no longer other Christian voting blocs the fascists think they have to accommodate or crush. The democrat fascist party has never changed a single one of its goals. Those goals have always been the elimination of Christianity, the creation of a ruling nobility that either owns or otherwise absolutely controls the rest of the population and ever since the Darwin, the creation of a superior race by implementing eugenics solutions dictated by the ruling nobility. Class, Race, antisemitism, and anti-Catholicism, have been the standard weapons of the democrat fascist party for as long as that party has existed. So far, they’ve orchestrated those weapons well enough that they’ve been the ruling majority at least since WWII due to their ability to first ostracize and then promise inclusion to those very same groups they intend to eventually be shed of. The democrat party has never and will never define the common good as anything that is in any way compatible with the Bill of Rights, and yet, the democrat fascist party still exists.
Where are the patriots who used to exist in such numbers that they instilled fear in elected officials when someone even suggested ignoring the Constitution? Where are the mass rallies against Obama and his criminal behavior? Does the fascist party have a patent on mass demonstrations of the sort that Congress critters can't ignore? How is it that OWS is in the news but not a peep is heard from the millions who claim to be aghast at the way the current President ignores and defies the Constitution? Has playing the game become the goal or are there still large numbers of people who will not accept the end of our Constitution at the hands of a fascist nobility led by a foreign usurper?

PS - Sorry to be so verbose, but, when we’ve gone so far down the toilet that folks are considering the details of how the dictatorial fascist party lead by a narcissist will deny rights to Catholics who are protected by the First Amendment, I felt I needed to say a good bit in order to avoid saying something succinct and off color.

Yes, the slippery slope which we are constantly berated for mentioning and told it is “scare tactics”.
I and I would bet, many others here knew from the beginning that this issue would be used to silence Christians and that the left would persecute those who oppose it.

Gulags and re-education camps for those whose religions faith condemns immorality and perversion - not too far off. Unless those of us on the right side develop more courage and fighting spirit.
This article isn’t surprising to me in the least. Many people equate anti-homosexual beliefs to be the same thing as racism. If you want to know where that leads, just study the civil rights movement. These people want to use the full force of government, federal, state, and local, to squash opposition, because that is what they did before.
Citizens might be permitted to believe what they want in the privacy of their own homes, but anyone opposed to the homosexual agenda who dares express that opinion will be ostracized. Anti-homosexual public expressions will be deemed hate speech, and no one will be permitted to discriminate against homosexuals in any way, constitutionally protected religious exceptions notwithstanding.
This is what happened for black civil rights, and this is what the left plans for the homosexual rights movement. The legal precedents have already been set.
I say it’s going to be worse than anything we’ve experienced: heterosexuals will have to submit to participating in gay sex once a month as a sign of their allegiance and solidarity to sexual diversity. It will be paying like union dues. The Catholic Church will have died and in its place will be the Church of the Anus, worshiping a god — Orifice Rex — who jumped out, fully formed from somebody’s rear end.
Authentic Christianity will be driven underground within one-two decades in America. Our role today is to prepare our children to such a life.
I think the level of vitriol and hatred toward orthodox Christians (Catholics, evangelicals and others) by the Left, represented by this professor, is even worse than that focused on racists.
Racists were quickly forgiven and forgotten—Senator Byrd, for example, continued to be a leading liberal Democrat, in spite of his KKK leadership past.
You never heard of blacks or Jews pounding on racists’ doors demanding they leave town; homosexuals in organized riots already do this in San Francisco to conservative Churches.
I can envision a time when/if socialized medicine prevails—and “homo-phobia” will be a designated mental disease...with organizations and Churches banned who oppose perversion...and people actually locked up in “re-education” camps to “cure” them of this “homophobic” “hate” they have.
This is why I get infuriated when conservative Christians (some friends of mine) support heavy-handed government (such as restaurant smoking bans, or fuel economy requirements) as these are just the beginning of ever more creeping control—over everything.

Jesus Would Discriminate
“You may have seen the yard signs around town asking the question, “would Jesus discriminate?” You may also know that they are part of a $55,000 public relations campaign by the homosexual Metropolitan Community Church of Indianapolis to persuade people that opposition against homosexuality is unChrist-like. You should also know that this is a shameful campaign promoting an immoral lifestyle and that the subtle proposition that Jesus would not discriminate in regard to homosexuals is as flimsy as a house made with fractured toothpicks.
“First, we should not take it as a given that discrimination is always wrong. Discrimination is both Biblical and experiential. Everyone discriminates. Parents discriminate in the choices they make for their children. We discriminate on what movies we choose to watch or not to watch. We discriminate in our voting choices on Election Day. The members of the Metropolitan Community Church discriminated in their choice of spending $55,000 to defend homosexuality rather than to support a Crisis Pregnancy Center, or print Bibles, or defend persecuted Christians in Muslim lands. To discriminate is merely “to make distinctions in treatment” (Webster’s New World Dictionary, Warner Books, 1990). In fact, to imply that discrimination is somehow unChrist-like while discriminating is hypocrisy. Jesus never condemned discrimination. But He did condemn hypocrisy. We must do it. Quite often we do it based on our moral values.

For example, the Old Testament teaches that God chose the Jewish race to reveal Himself to them and bless them like no other people at that time - “He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel. He has not dealt thus with any nation; and as for His judgments, they have not known them” Psalm 147:19-20 (compare Deuteronomy 7:6-11). That is discrimination. Jesus told the citizens of Capernaum that “if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day” Matthew 11:23. But those works were not done in Sodom, though they could have been done there, and Sodom was destroyed. That is discrimination. Jesus said that when He returns to earth that some will “go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life” Matthew 25:46. That is discrimination. But it is a just discrimination.
“Thirdly, it is clear from the Scriptures that Jesus discriminated regarding homosexuals. Jesus believed, taught and lived by the Old Testament. He quoted it hundreds of times. He affirmed its absolute authority and warned that “unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven” Matthew 5:18-20. The scribes and Pharisees were the most radical, legalistic observers of the Old Testament laws. The Old Testament is unequivocal in its denunciation of homosexuality. According to Leviticus 18:22 a man “shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.” It is such an abomination that “if a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them shall surely be put to death” Leviticus 20:13.
“Additionally, Jesus defended the Mosaic law of marriage which taught the life-long union of a man and a woman as the norm - Matthew 19:4-5 quoting Genesis 1:27. Jesus explicitly affirmed the historicity of Sodom’s destruction in Luke 17:29-30. Sodom, regardless of silly arguments to the contrary, cultured homosexuality - Genesis 19. Obviously, Jesus’ disciples believed that Jesus had an unequivocal position on homosexuality. Peter said that God turned “the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes making them an example to those who afterward live ungodly” - 2 Peter 2:4-6. Paul said that homosexuals are debased and that they will not go to heaven unless they repent - Romans 1:27-30; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. However, they may be delivered from this sin if they repent and trust Christ - 1 Corinthians 6:11. Jude said that the homosexuals of Sodom and Gomorrah are “suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” - Jude 5-7.
“So would Jesus discriminate? Yes.”
I did a master’s in midlife at an Ivy university, took a Constitutional Law class in which the professor decried the increasing encroachment of the SCOTUS on our liberties, and received the same sort of response from him when I did my thesis on the legal destruction of traditional marriage.
I was most disappointed; since he himself was married to the same woman for decades and the father of young adults.
Religion just doesn’t count with self-worshipping intellectuals.
