That’s just crazy. Once the soul has departed, the corpse is nothing but dead meat. It is no longer the Temple of anything.
Of course, the multi-million-dollar Catholic cemetery business would go bust if the Church taught otherwise.
Everything in the Catholic Church comes down to money.
Cremation costs about a thousand bucks.
A traditional Catholic funeral with 3 days of waking, Church ceremony, and burial comes close to $10,000 (for a moderate bash).

Peace on Earth, good will to men.
My dad died in 1982. He was cremated and buried in a Catholic cemetary. 300.00 for the plot, 275.00 for the cremation and 50.00 to bury him.
My mom died in 1989. She was cremated and buried in the SAME PLOT (there is room for 4 more cremanes) The price went up to 500.00 for the cremation and still 50.00 to bury her.
So while you think it’s “all about money in the Catholic Church” I can count on myself, my husband and each of my children going into that plot for a big ole 200.00.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to find out some facts before posting insults.

For the religious services, nobody said one word about cost: not one word even about a "suggested donation." We finally --- just on our own initiative --- gave the choral director $25 for the benefit of the choir's expenses: she was utterly surprised and said nobody had every done that before.
You are quite mistaken, my friend.
You might want to get some facts before you say things like this.
I meant to say that the entire funeral expenses, including everything --- coffin, cemetery plot, etc. etc. --- cost about $4,000, and the Catholic Church per se asked for nothing and got nothing unless you count the $25 we gratuitously offered to the choir director.
Thank you for giving me this opportunity to supply my morsel of fact-based reporting.
