time I checked, the world is NOT getting better — that check was wrong — people in India, China, South America, Asean, even Africa are living longer, healthier lives with more of the necessities of life

It’s just a sign of Daniel’s prophecy...”that in the latter days knowledge shall increase”. Science has allowed a bubble of better health and nutrition for larger segments of the world’s population. But science hasn’t increased Christ consciousness and morality. Rather we see “the great apostacy”! Hence...”the people shall travel to and fro” the sense of that verse suggesting moral rootlessness!
on the contrary, the world is living healthier, more people are literate, more people are out of poverty, more people are embracing the gospel than ever before. Things are getting better
Even if you take BB's entire statement sin is rampant, and the polarization between good and evil continue. -- sin was always rampant, but people in general are not more sinful than they were before -- don't look at it only from the US perspective -- more people in Africa, Asia are becoming Christian and rejecting sin. In fact sin is decreasing in that respect
Even in terms of murders the number of murders nowadays in the US in 2010 is far less % wise than the number of murders in say 1910 or 1810.
morals in the US may have fallen, but in Africa and Asia they are taking up Christian values to such an extent that they now send missionaries to the Western world
Look at it from the world-wide view and there is improvement in the Gospel message and in the living standards of people
