Like many who are exceptional in the world and are distinguished from the "ordinary" and oftentimes boring man...God raises up 'the unexpected'...
John the Batist comes to mind... His voiceand verbage rattled the religious instructors of his time. The there was Mary ...surely not of the elite of her time, who no doubt the woman of her day anticipated that God would choose one of them over some garden variety common Jewish gal. It wouldn't be "expected".
Then of course there were the religious teachers of that time who couldn't imagine thier "King" coming as an infant in a stable surrounded by farm animals...in fact they denied him and attempted to take his life...a life only he could lay down willingly.
It is wise to not trust ones expectations on who God raises up to fulfill His will among men...in fact one could miss entirely the occasion to see His great hand work.... God seems to work most often via the un-expected....and I think He enjoys doing so.
THX.
MAY GOD BE HIGHLY PRAISED AND EXALTED.
MAY THE ROCKS CRY OUT HIS PRAISE AND TRUTHS.
MAY HOLY SPIRIT PIERCE TO THE BONE MARROW ALL WHO MAY BE REDEEMED WITH HIS TRUTH, JUSTICE, MERCY, HUMILITY.
BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD.
