Sure they do. The Catholic church teaches that the pope can be infallible in the matter of faith and morals, and that priests and clergy can remit or retain sins, thereby damning a person to hell for eternity.
They are Christ’s representatives who rule over the flock in his earthly absence, but if they betray Christ through personal unworthiness or heresy we have an obligation to resist them.

Just like all those pedophile, child molesting priests that the church hid and moved around to keep from getting caught? The clergy of the Catholic church has had a long and sordid history.
Resist the evil? They cover it and protect it.
That is Catholic teaching.
It is NOT Catholic practice.
Protestantism has its own sordid history, so take the plank out of your own eye.
At least Catholics have the humility to admit when we’ve been wrong.
