Mary sits at the right hand of her Son, who sits at the right hand of the Father.

Prove that statement that Mary sits on the right hand of her son. We know Jesus sits at the right hand of God...the scriptures attest to that....Mary...no.

As they say, we all have opinions...;-D

In years past, the Christmas season has been one filled with numerous “Catholics worship Mary and they’re all going to hell” comments. There have even been a few of those on this lengthy thread, believe it or not.

Hope you have a blessed Christmas season and a great new year.

Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Then you need to tell your Popes, Bishops and authors of which your church continues to use that they are lying....you can’t have it both ways...eiter they’re teaching that or not...all evidence says that they are as follows:

1891 Encyclical “Octobri Mense,” Pope Leo XIII wrote:

... “nothing is imparted to us except through Mary... so, just as no one can approach the highest Father except through the Son, so no one can approach Christ except through His Mother.”

Catholic apologist Karl Keating says:

“Mary is the Mediatrix of all graces because of her intercession for us in heaven. What this means is that no grace accrues to us without her intercession” (Catholicism and Fundamentalism, Ignatius Press, 1988).

And further:....’Pope John Paul II’ Marian Shrine..Poland and how greatly he erroed...( Monday, 7 June 1999)

His prayer to Mary....

“Hail, O Daughter of God the Father,
Hail, O Mother of the Son of God,
Hail, O Bride of the Holy Spirit,
Temple of the Most Holy Trinity.
Amen.”

The Pope gave the ‘wrong Trinity’. The Holy Trinity of the Bible is:

The Father
The Son
The Holy Spirit

But the trinity the Pope gave is directly opposite of the true Trinity:

The Daughter (of the Father)
The Mother (of the Son)
The Bride (of the Holy Spirit)

.........................................................

The TRUTH of the Trinity Is:

The Father is The Lord God Eternal,.... the Creator of everything and everyone, Him who has no beginning and no end.

The Son is God manifest in the flesh. God become flesh to save us from our sins.

The Holy Spirit is the power of God in action. It is through His Holy Spirit that God deals directly with man.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one”. ....JN 5:7

"Why did Jesus change Simon’s name to Peter, Cephas, Rock?"

Well, "Proddy" volk say that, like the local "evangelist", Christ was thinking about what would look good on the marquee and printed announcements when a marketing revival was held. A name like "Rock" would be a much better draw for the tens of thousands of churches Christ established when they wanted to sell Escape & Evasion books.

Christ named Simon "Rock" because, as with Abraham, He was making Simon a promise and giving Peter a new authority and role. That promise and role were made explicitly, and perfectly, clear by the change of name. Christ named Simon "Rock", to make it clear He was talking about; Peter is the head of His Church on earth. The only reason to deny it is to put individual interpretation and Self above what Christ told us would be a light to the world, a city on a hill, and our protection from Satan prevailing against the Truth. Christ founded His Church, Christ is the cornerstone and the Apostles are the twelve foundations exactly like it says in Revelation which is yet another one of the books those who revolted against the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church wanted to throw in the trash. Peter is the rock upon which Christ built His Church, period, case closed, if anyone likes it or not.

You know, it's a funny thing how the "Proddy" crowd likes to weave whole webs of lies about His Church but it is the "Proddy" crowd who insist on a cross without Christ crucified and that The One True Church is invisible in spite of clear Scripture to the contrary. They imitate the Roman Army which would erect empty crosses when they were giving an enemy army or enemy city time to think things over before a battle. Empty crosses were the Roman Army warning of what happened to those who didn't kneel before the power of Man, the power their many pagan gods, and the power of the Empire of Man, not the symbol of the One True God, Jesus Christ and Him crucified. People take Christ off the cross yet pretend to preach Christ and Him Crucified, and people refuse to acknowledge the Church Christ founded but pretend to be a part of His Church. The only reason to have a cross rather than a crucifix is because you haven't thought about it or don't want to preach Christ and Him crucified. The only reason to not be a part of His Church is because you haven't thought about it or you want to be in open revolt against His Church.

And look at the results of the revolt against His Church. It's the "Proddy" crowd ordaining queers; marrying queers one to another; shrugging off abortion; ignoring the fact that most contraception is murder and all contraception is disobedience; claiming they believe in "Scripture Alone" only after eliminating entire books of the Old Testament; claiming the Bible is paramount but that Christ and the Apostles used an incorrect version of the Scriptures and just never got around to mentioning what they used included books that shouldn't be there; refusing to accept a direct quotes of Jesus Christ as a fact; and refusing to acknowledge anything other than their own personal authority in all matters of faith and morals. It is the "Proddy" crowd who practice, "The Lego Block Method of Scripture Interpretation" and refuse to admit that all of the tens of thousands of false gods and new religions that have flowed from the revolt against The One True Church fit descriptions of an anti-Christ harlot far better than the Catholic Church does.

Other than those groups and denominations that since the revolt moved back closer to the Catholic Church in their teaching, Baptists and Lutherans for example, the "Proddy" crowd is like Eve, they're convinced their own understanding is sufficient and that God would surely hide something from them if they didn't restate and reinterpret Scripture to suit themselves. And like the serpent, whether it's the blab it and grab it sect, the cult of man as god taught by Oprah, the religion of Self advocated by so many here on FR, or just someone listening to the Titmouse on their bird bath, they're each and every one an entirely new religion that directs the individual to look to themselves first and Christ only after recreating Christ in their own image.

Regards

If all that isn't bad enough, the folks who think they're such special snowflakes that they're going to be evacuated before the real war starts are going to very, very, upset to find out that they might really have to bear a cross rather than just abandoning their clothes and laughing while they fly naked through the solar system.

Interesting thought: were the hippies the result of the Reformation, or at least the result of Rapture theology?

Sometimes our dearly separated friends make it easy for we Christians to be right. We just look at their positions and go the opposite way. Wonderful homily last night re: the Theotokos. The padre at the church we attended is a professor at a local university and one who firmly grasps Church history (including the East).

(Protestants).. They are deeply offended by the submission that Mary showed.

Not at all, we understand clearly her humble heart before our Father's will. What is offensive is when people make her an idol and worship her images made by mens hands...and with those same imaginations pray to her.. when Jesus himself has stated He alone is the only mediator between man and God...and that we are not to make graven images to worship and adorn as the heathen do. That's what's offensive.

And those Catholics who descend into Mariolatry are excommunicated from the Faith. Last year there was an entire order of nuns in Quebec that were excommunicated for this very reason.

We do not permit such heresy. At the same time, please read these threads and recognize the drumbeats of 'liberty' shouted out by Protestants who violently claim the right to create their own theology. "We submit to no man" tends to turn into "I'll believe what I want".

Probably not. That movement came from the "immanentizing the eschaton" side of politics, not from the "seeking a novel way of shortening the days" side of religion.

Nor do we call her "the Holy Mother Of God'... as if God needed a mother.

Behind every deficient Mariology is a deficient Christology.

Tremendous statement. Standing applause. Every recognition of Mary is a recognition of Christ. Everything that Mary was or did pointed to Christ. Our deficient friends are, well, deficient in recognizing that.

When you define yourself not in terms of what you are, but in terms of what you are not, then all kinds of silly possibilities can be developed.

Is not that the same reasoning as when one believes what's 'not written' rather than adhere to what "is written

Not sure that I understand what you mean.

Wow! That’s way more holy than English or Hebrew or certainly French! /s

Wow! That's certainly indicating that you have a grasp of Church history! /s

And keep the terminology straight: the pre-tribulation rapture eschatology. The catching up of the saints to Christ upon his return, the dead ones resurrected and the living ones instantly transformed, is just a BCB, basic Christian belief.

****Yup, anyone can claim that they have taught CCD. They can claim that they know the catechism.****

And they get all offended when we say they have been poorly catechized. LOL Think of the damage they have done to those who were assigned to their class. Oh man, it’s enough to make one’s head explode.

What makes my head explode is the damage to the little ones that are caused by both the well meaning and the predators. Both are doing evil.

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

What books did Luther reject or question that other RCs did not prior to Trent?

The Apocalypse of John, for one. James, Esther, Hebrews, Jude and Revelation were all epistles of straw as far as he was concerned.

The deceit of the CC is going to be costly to all who hold it as their way to salvation. The CC is a heretical cult that has followed the pagan practices and rituals of Babylon. The symbols of Baal incorporated into the CC rituals and practices are an abomination to God.

If you repeat this little mantra often enough, do you think that it will become true?

Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness .....and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11 It is the responsibility of every believer to read the Bible and check to see if those teaching them are true to the Bible..

The Bereans only had the Septuagint. Are you supposed to only consult the Septuagint?

Also; the entire nation of Israel rejected Jesus. What made the Bereans recognize Jesus in the OT when Israel did not?
