Anyone with children knows that the surest way to have them do something dangerous is to tell them not to do it.

Right, we sure wouldn't want them to learn obedience now, would we? Take away the stove controls, put carpeting on tile floors, store everything out of sight, place everything right in front of them that is allowed, pamper pamper our lovely little idiots who are incapable of learning what 'no' means and too unruly to obey. Are you liberal by any chance?

You missed the point completely. And you also like to fight rather than engage in discussion. Name calling is rather childish.

It is central to our nature to touch the stove, climb the tree, explore, discover test. This is the way we were created.

I personally let my children learn from their own mistakes (They don’t touch the stove anymore), but that does not include life and death mistakes. For instance, I wouldn’t leave a loaded gun where my six year old could get her hands on it.
