I’m a Catholic and I’d be very reluctant to vote for a Mormon president (they always show up at the door trying to “convert” Catholics - and in fact, in Catholic countries, they are told to lie about their beliefs so they seem like just some ordinary kind of Christian group inviting people to meetings).

That said, his biggest problem is that he is a raving statist. But I think that’s typical of Mormonism, which was conceived as a theocracy where Joseph Smith and Brigham Young and their successors would rule everything, and in fact it took the US Cavalry to make them back down. Utah was not allowed to join the Union until the Mormons agreed to accept American law, particularly regarding polygamy.

I agree; it’s well documented that Mormons are still violating anti-polygamy laws and I am more than sure that there is still sick stuff going on, inside those compounds.

That’s funny. I’d have difficulty voting for a Catholic. Hard to imagine having a president who believes all that Communion nonsense.
