“I cannot name a Mormon who I consider unjust or dishonest.”

Boy I can. Do you know what about Mormon excommunication? If so, could you see Jesus presiding over one?

There are a lot of nice Mormons, but that doesn’t make Mormonism harmless. When you see how the inner workings of the Mormon machinery work, you will see how it can be sorely abusive to women.

Wake up - Check
Brush teeth - Check
Read anti-mormon post on FR - Check
Thank goodness, it had been nearly 24 hrs since we had our last post on FR reminding us of the evil Mormons and their Satan spawned cult. I was beginning to worry that maybe the Danites had finally got you. Thankfully we can always rely on a timely reminder (no matter how ridiculous) from yourself and your fellow anti-mormons who are in the vanguard at the front fighting this scourge in America!

You know, one of the Mormon "prophets" from a generation ago was David O. McKay.

"In 1952, in an effort to increase the effectiveness of full-time missionaries, the first official proselyting plan was sent to missionaries throughout the world. It was titled A Systematic Program for Teaching the Gospel. It included seven missionary discussions... (Our Heritage: A Brief History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, p. 116 -- published by the Mormon church in 1996)

McKay ensured that FOUR key principles were to be taught in these lessons. The third one was the so-called universal apostasy and restoration.

So, 52,000 Mormon missionaries...hundreds of thousands since 1952...have 6 days a week ensured that they went door-to-door to harp on their proselyting message that the Christian church is AWOL (apostate) and has been for thousands of years.

So for these 26,000 teams of Mormon missionaries:
Wake up - Check
Brush teeth - Check
Head out the door to label the Christian homes they visit "apostate" - Check
Thank goodness, it had been "only" a few hours [due to the distinct time zones around the world] since we had our last Mormon missionary contact reminding the world of the "evil" apostate Christians and their 100% abominable creeds Joseph Smith talked about in his first vision. I was beginning to worry that maybe the mishies had been careless and got chocolate syrup on their white shirts. Thankfully we can always rely on a timely reminder (no matter how ridiculous) from these 26,000 anti-Christian mishy teams who are in the vanguard at the front fighting this Christian "scourge" not only in America but the world!

[Funny how you seem, America always, to get unnerved by a handful of thread posts by a handful of occasional keyboard posters, but it's seemingly 100% "A-OK" with you that the Mormon church sends out 26,000 hate teams each year to proclaim that the Christian church is "apostate"...tell us, how is that any different than the Mormons getting in bed with the Muslims, which have similarly announced over & over again that the Christians are "infidels?"...can you say you're religiously inconsistent? Two-faced? Hypocritical?]

Have we not got better things to do than pick on Mormons? I cannot name a Mormon who I consider unjust or dishonest. However, I can name an entire “religion” that states that it’s encouraged to lie and deceive. Can you guess which one???

Read post #25. Hasn't the Mormon church got better things to do than to send out 26,000 teams of missionaries each year to proclaim that the Christian church is AWOL (apostate)? This has been one of the top four messages their missionaries have proclaimed to the world since 1952, when they implemented their formal entire-world proselyting plan.

Oh, and if you want to compare what the Mormon mainline message is (that Christians are apostates) to the Muslim mainline message (that Christians are infidels), tell me, what's the difference?

The two are in bed with each other in going after Christians from the get-go of their existence.

You clicked on the thread to post that little jibe, so I think you should be rewarded with a few blasphemous quotes right out of the MormonISM Journal of Discourses (blasphemous to Christianity, but your mileage may vary):

"We may talk of men being redeemed by the efficacy of his [Christ's] blood; but the truth is that that blood has no efficacy to wash away our sins. That must depend upon our own action." [ LDS Apostle Amasa M. Lyman, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 7, p. 299, 1859]

"We were begotten by our Father in Heaven; the person of our Father in Heaven was begotten on a previous heavenly world by His Father; and again, He was begotten by a still more ancient Father; and so on, from generation to generation, ... we wonder in our minds, how far back the genealogy extends, and how the first world was formed, and the first father was begotten" (Orson Pratt, The Seer, p.132).

In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it. (Joseph Smith, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 5, 1844)

"In the very beginning the Bible shows there is a plurality of Gods beyond the power of refutation. It is a great subject I am dwelling on. The word Eloheim ought to be in the plural all the way through--Gods. The heads of the Gods appointed ONE God for us..." (Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 372)

I will go back to the beginning, before the world was, to show what kind of a being God is. What sort of a being was God in the beginning? Open your ears and hear, all ye ends of the earth; for I am going to prove it to you by the Bible, and to tell you the designs of God in relation to the human race, and why he interferes with the affairs of man. God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens. That is the great secret. (Joseph Smith, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 3, 1844)

"Some people are troubled over the statements of the Prophet Joseph Smith.... The matter that seems such a mystery is the statement that our Father in heaven at one time passed through a life and death and is an exalted man. This is one of the mysteries.... The Prophet taught that our Father had a Father and so on. Is not this a reasonable thought, especially when we remember that the promises are made to us that we may become like him?" (Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, pp.10, 12).

"Jesus was the bridegroom at the marriage of Cana of Galilee...We say it was Jesus Christ who was married, to be brought into relation whereby he could see his seed [children] before he was crucified (Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, vol. 2, p. 82).
"There was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and on a careful reading of that transaction, it will be discovered that non less a person that Jesus Christ was married on that occasion. If he was never married, his intimacy with Mary and Martha an the other Mary also whom Jesus loved, must have been highly unbecoming and improper to say the best of it." (Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, vol. 4, p. 259).

"In the Church councils, it was spoken of: "Joseph F. Smith_ He spoke upon the marriage in Cana of Galilee. He thought Jesus was the bridegroom and Mary and Martha the brides."(Journal of Wilford Woodruff, July 22, 1883).

"The grand reason of the burst of public sentiment in anathemas upon Christ and his disciples, causing his crucifixion, was evidently based upon polygamy, according to the testimony of the philosophers who rose in that age. A belief in doctrine of a plurality of wives caused the persecution of Jesus and his followers. We might almost think they were Mormons (Jedediah Grant, Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 346).

Now, if you have no regard for Christianity, then the above blasphemous fictions from MormonISM prophets and apostles wil escape your comprehension. But for Christians, when readign that drek the Holy Spirit within stirs up the human spirit, some more than others.

The world is on fire and you are worried about the Osmonds... You may want to talk about a real religion of sickness.....Islam.

Hmmm...How about Jesus' words? "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." (Luke 12:4-5)

So tell us, baddog. Does Jesus say, "fear the 'fire-setters'? (No)
Does Jesus say, "fear the sickest religion?” (No)

Instead, does He say to exercise fear of the One who has authority to cast somebody into hell? (Yes)

So, indeed, our "fear" is on behalf of those who are placing their eternal spiritual lives at risk.

And that's what makes your comment doubly ironic: There isn't a place more "on fire" than hell!

Why do you think God creates those that He knows are going to be Mormons? Why do you think He created John Smith, knowing what was going to happen?

Oh, and if you want to compare what the Mormon mainline message is (that Christians are apostates) to the Muslim mainline message (that Christians are infidels), tell me, what's the difference?

Really?

I don't recall any Mormons crashing airliners into skyscrapers to kill the apostates.

I don't recall any Mormons making snuff films where they cut off apostates' heads.

I don't recall any Mormons rioting over unflattering cartoon images of Joseph Smith or Brigham Young.

Get the picture?

Look: very few of us on FR (if any) support Mitt Romney for president, considering his track record of right-left-right flip-flopping and his support of socialized medicine. Most of us could care less about his Mormonism: IMHO, criticizing him about it is a distraction that he'll only use to his advantage by framing it as religious bigotry (kinda like Obama playing the race card).

Time to move on.

Can you even imagine going through life with only one mission, one single goal? That mission being to demonize and chastise others who employ their right to choose what religion to practice.

Fanatic obsessions like this clearly indicate a mental disorder of some sort. Perhaps someone here in FReeperland with documented Psychiatric credentials could identify the DSM catagory and possible diagnosis and suggestions on how to overcome this affliction?

If I didn’t have a ‘real’ life, I could spend (waste) the rest of my day searching the DSM Manual myself, but with winter coming on quickly I have actual work to do. My chores today do involve digging. Hmmm, maybe I inherited some of Smith’s DNA and might find some treasure in the process!

Colofornian is probably a pretty decent person, sans her extreme dislike for the LDS religion and constant attacks.

Could it be that she had an unhappy childhood? A stable family life as a child and now as an adult? I really don’t know, but will pray for her to break out of this ‘one-trick pony’ act of pointing out everything bad about the LDS and perhaps post something positive for a change.

BTW, I’m not LDS.

Thank you for the interesting post. Very strange but well documented. It sounds like the Smiths were the real witches doesn’t it?

The personal demeanor of many Mormons aside, the origin is troubling. Starting your religion by working with the occult makes it more likely that the occult is starting the religion through you.

Why would anyone like mormonISM?
However, most of what is posted is straight from lds sources and publications.
So it appears mormons like to talk about themselves a lot.

Nice reductionism. (Unauthorized bio from a complete stranger who doesn't know me)

That mission being to demonize and chastise others who employ their right to choose what religion to practice.

(Are you 'demonizing' me, panaxanax? If my free and "right to choose" religious expression includes posting Lds content, why is that bothersome to you? Is it because you want to demonize and chastise me for employing that right? Doesn't that make your above statement both self-refuting and hypocritical? What you afford to Mormons -- perhaps because you were one or have family members as such -- you won't "allow" others?)

As for my childhood? The happiest a person could have. Wonderful environment. Even my time spent with my Mormon cousins and relatives were grand...no complaints.

You see, Panaxanax, the problem with Mormonism isn't really Mormon people.

The problem with Mormonism is its origins. (And that's what this thread focuses on...but go on, if you want to make it about me, I can understand why you want to change the focus)

This post is about mormonISM not islam.
If you want to post about Romney and islam then do so, but why bother getting agitated about the post when this post is in the religion forum and is about mormonISM.
