On Wednesday, I will be having laser surgery for a cataract. Even though I know that this is now a routine procedure, I am very anxious, especially since I am squeamish about stuff being put into my eyes.
Please pray for me to receive the grace from the Holy Spirit that will allow me to place it all in Gods Hands.
Praise God! I’m so glad!
Thanks, FRiend. See my update at 75.
Yes, I will definitely pass on the encouragement -— and the prayers.
Glad it went well. Follow the post op instructions carefully.
You are very kind to include me in your after action report.
I knew everything would go just great. It makes me very happy you are okay.
I need surgery for my right eye now. The first went fantastic.
Those of us who grew up and still live in the tropics (Panama) eventually have cataract problems.
By the way, kitty cats, and I presume dogs also, get cataracts. What is wonderful here in Panama is the MD ophthalmologists operate on pets for a low fee (compared to human fees). It makes me feel good. It is an act of charity and kindness on their part.
P.S.
By the way, I am having my teeth cleaned this Friday and am thinking of cutting my wrists first.
So glad it went well and you’re back with us!
Thanks so much for pinging and letting us know it went well Bigg Red. Because of hearing loss early in my life, I was very scared about eye surgery and understand other’s fears.
Now it’s eye drops for many weeks, lol. Take care!
I hear you with the teeth cleaning. For many years, I regarded it as torture. But now I am fortunate to have a dentist whose hygienist is very gentle, so I don’t mind it at all. She always says, “It’s not meant to be a search and destroy mission.”
You have my sympathy.
Hey! Wifey and I both had our cleaning last week, and it took 45 minutes apiece; maybe our hygienist is extra thorough.....but I think it's always taken a half hour or better.
Ditto that...20 years ago, our former dentist had a hygienist named Nancy; wifey and I still recall her as "Nancy the Nazi" - she loved to crank that ultra-whatever thingie up to 100% and go for it.
I had a laser eye surgery last week.
No biggie, no pain, 2 minutes, 2 1/2 hours in the clinic (grhhh!) $15.
Prayers for you.
Thank you Lord, for seeing Bigg Redd through this anxious procedure, and letting us help to ease her mind. So very glad to hear that all is well :)
May God continue to bless and keep you!
Tatt
I confess mine probably does take 30 minutes or a little less because I schedule teeth cleaning torture at every 3 months so it’s a little quicker and less painful.
Blech!!!!
happy to hear all went well, and you missed out on the “pincher things”.
(seriously-somebody warned you of that and you still went thru it? I’da been heading for the hills!!!!
“...I am fortunate to have a dentist whose hygienist is very gentle...”
I only wish (for me).
The only thing salvageable is the very rare times I need to see my dentist who is total eye candy. LOL!!!
God is GOOD! Glad to hear that everything went well.
;-)
You will be just fine. 30 years ago, I had a large piece if metal slice ito the center of my eye.
The color even drained from my cornea. I was rushed to emergency surgery and told the chance to save my eye were not good.
Being very young and pregnant at the time, I was terrified in so many ways. Technology was not as great back then.
So many awful things had to be done in order to save it. Like actually sitting ther awake as they removed stitches from my eye. But save it they did. Lost most vision, but most people would never know.
This surgery you are having, my Dad had done and he is old. He came out fine except for a little discomfort and photophobia a week or so.
Buck up and good luck soldier!
oops, its all over now. Hope you are fine. LOL
LOL! The “pincher things” comment was what really ramped up my anxiety, but I really believe that everyone’s prayers took away that anxiety.
There was absolutely no pain — and no pincher things. Some of the pre-op drops smarted for a nanosecond, but, honestly, I could not put that in the “pain” column.
I thank God for his mercies.
