The five teenage girls might look like they’re in a normal class, eagerly reading their textbooks and answering their teacher’s questions diligently.

But the textbooks are Bibles and the girls all have crosses instead of protractors, as they train to become exorcists - real exorcists who fight demons, curses and evil spells.

‘People do look a bit surprised when I arrive,’ admits graduate exorcist Brynne Larson. ‘When people call for an exorcist, they don’t picture a 16-year-old high school girl.’

But Brynne, from Phoenix, Arizona, is one of a new breed of qualified teenage demon slayers, who answered a call when the Church made the admission of there being a worldwide exorcist shortage.

But despite drastic efforts, supply has still not met demand for the controversial ceremony.

so one is in a cult when they believe that the Word of God is totally relevant for today as it was 2000 years ago? The 70 went out preaching and casting out devils. The Bible tells us to take authority over the enemy that enemy is several layers thick if you believe Galatians. Taking authority over your house your city and your state and country is not voodoo as one has proposed it to be. All of folks who poo poo this stuff had better pray for more discernment for the hour of His return is at hand and the bible says we should be ready.

The whole thing seems to be a feeble attempt at glorifying exorcism. Best to be careful about serious stuff like that.

I tend to side with you on this. The first thought I had is some teenage girls hung up on Buffy the Vampire Slayer or the Twilight movies. Demonic possession and influence is a very real happening and has never abated even from Christ's time on earth. Anyone who ventures to deal with this problem better be in the correct frame of mind, yielded to Christ, prayerful, sometimes fasting, and at all times claiming the blood of Christ over all. It must be a special calling and definitely NOT for attention getting.

Nonsense! Quix is talking about a Christian being able to discern the presence of demonic spirits. That is certainly a type of Spiritual gift. See I Corinthians 12:4-10

Who are you to say what gifts God has given to some and not to others? Do you have the gift of intersession? The gift of discernment? Whoa those gifts are not listed in the Corint 1 gifts. So who's to say you have them Quix?

That article from the Christian Research Institute is full of hogwash.

It is written from a fairly rigid and wholesale bias against modern day operations of Holy Spirit’s gifts etc. It is written by the Cessationist perspective that has increased dramatically in that organization since Walter Martin’s death.

Walter at least had some respect for the Charismatic gifts because his throat Dr was commissioned to be a missionary to the Middle East as a result of a message in tongues with interpretation. Walter—with natural proclivities against such was impressed enough with the realities involved, he had to adjust his theology a bit. Sadly, what he learned did not survive him in the organization.

That hit pieces is not worth the pixels it shows up on.

I don't much like these discussions, but I happened to see your comment (#49) and noticed that you unfortunately picked discernment as a gift not included in the list in 1 Cor. As can be seen from the above quote, it is indeed included.

Where did I declare that XYZ person had this or that gift and WUV person did not have that gift?

In terms of my own giftings, I’m learning to not even acknowledge the truth about such things on FR.

I was blessed with a very anointed fellow from OKLAHOMA this week . . . way above average on humility as well as anointing and giftings in a list of ways. I got to spend probably 9 or more hours with him Thursday.

God has confirmed my walk with Him in a list of ways and again recently. His confirmation is sufficient.

Others, if they are determined to get wound up about such . . . can go . . . chase a duck, as mother used to say.

It’s my experience on such threads that for many folks,

denominational dogma, propaganda, heresies, rigid biases . . . idolized hogwash

Quix you started your rant in large letters about mental health and deliverance stating that no one can discern between the two and I asked you how do you know this? How do you know that God is not raising up young people for deliverance ministry in the end times? Samuel was just a child when he became a prophet. A lot of times you come out with a shotgun and a responce list firing away at everyone on that list.
