You don’t think a Mormon would switch party lines to vote for another Mormon? You don’t know Mormonism very well.

Mormons place their trust in other Mormons over ‘gentiles’, and that extends to voting.

I didn’t say I didn’t think “a mormon” would vote across party lines for a mormon. I said that there was no evidence that Reid got a majority of the mormon vote in his election against Angle, as was suggested by the poster.

I can find no evidence for the claim, and every story that spoke about the religious issue in the race said that Angle was beating Reid in the Mormon vote, even though she had made comments against the religion.

If you can find some exit polling data for the race that shows Reid won the Mormon vote, please post it, and I’ll admit I am wrong. I have found no such evidence, and have posted my facts with references.

BTW, many mormons have questions about Reid’s true faith, given his long record of voting against the beliefs of the church; that’s one of the reasons cited for why he wasn’t winning the Mormon vote. Mormons are no more likely to vote for a “mormon in name only” than we are to vote for fake republicans.
