The Prophecy of St. FrancisI’m familiar with this passage but hadn’t previously interpreted it to mean that Jesus sent Abbadon to torture people.
“Those who preserve in their fervour and adhere to virtue with love and zeal for the truth, will suffer injuries and, persecutions as rebels and schismatics; for their persecutors, urged on by the evil spirits, will say they are rendering a great service to God by destroying such pestilent men from the face of the earth.”
This is all we need to know and it’s all we’ve ever needed to know. We must be vigilant and be ready to light our lamps whenever the darkness falls.
We have the joy of living a mini-martyrdom every day due to the unpopularity of Catholicism and the attacks by Lucifer and his minions. It may be in our lifetimes we will also have the joy of being real martyrs.
We must hold fast to Christ and the Eucharist, no matter what happens.
I totally agree. Calling John XXIII a navigator? Calling Benedict, ‘the glory of the olives’ because he chose ‘Benedict’ as a name?
I wonder how authentic this is. Even the Leonine prayers have zero relation to the supposed granting Satan one century, and that legend emerged after WWI.
Yep, I agree. Thought you were questioning the destroyer. Jesus sending it is new to me too.
Can someone enlighten as to the religion being mentioned?

wagglebee makes great points, and awesome link by CJ Wolf!
(much much clearer than what i said or read before.)
...and the Bible doesn’t name it specifically.
but does indicate another religion will be the largest.
and last year, the Pope made the curious statement,
(in CJ Wolf’s link) that Islam is now the largest single religion in the world.
(another in the series of prophecies fulfilled, like Israel reborn. showing what “season” we are approaching...)
and people make good points about secularists. (and atheism, IS technically a religion...)
but, i have studied Islam, including the Sira and ahadith,
(i even studied it from “inside” with an Imam).
and i have no doubt, that Islam isn’t a “man-made” cult or religion. ...it truly IS the religion of Satan himself !
(any Christian could realize that, in the warning of Jesus that Satan could still appear as a “spirit of light”,
simply from reading the story of Mohammad in the cave with the “spirit of light” that terrified him, and tried to choke him. ...and there many more clear examples.)
and not so oddly, Islam has end-times prophecys that indirectly support the Bible’s.
example their’s says the end is near when Islam is the largest.
Look at Mohammad's visitation in the cave compared to angel visitations in the Bible (like when the Angel visited the Blessed Mother and Saint Joseph).
In the Bible, the FIRST THING the Angel does is make sure that the person is not afraid.
In the Koran, the "angel" who visits Mohammad does nothing like this, in fact Mohammad cowered in the cave in fear for several days afterward.
7. Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it under foot and deny it."
It's already begun. A Swedish pastor, named Ake Green, was put in jail for a month for preaching that homosexuality is a sin. This was done under the Swedish hate crimes law. Canadian and French legislators have been fined for publicly criticizing homosexuality.
Meanwhile, other christian ministers are attuning their views to contemporary 'enlightenment', as they see it. ... THE "BIBLICAL" ARGUMENTS FOR HOMOSEXUALITY
So, where does that leave the average individual? Confused! There are good reasons why Satan is called the Prince of Lies. He is clever, yet subtle, when he whispers his lies and many are the christians who have begun to cave. From the above article,
On the basis of Scripture, Seventh-day Adventists historically have rejected homosexuality as morally unacceptable. Today, however, some are reinterpreting the Bible to allow for the practice. Proponents claim that scriptural references to homosexual acts are culturally-conditioned, and thus do not suffice to determine Gods will for homosexuals today.
This is an excellent example of the subtlety with which Satan works. He whispers, cajoles and causes confusion. It takes a strong faith to hold fast to scriptural truths. That is the "rocky road" that our Lord indicated we need to travel in order to reach heaven.
Attn 4yearlurker: Your posting on the Baptist minister's prediction is right on target. Back in the late 60's, when our nation was still strong and christian faith prevailed, I met an Italian immigrant who became a good friend. One day, after assessing the american landscape, he made a comment that has remained with me to this day.
The Italian education system, at that time, mandated that children study the classical history of: Rome and Athens. The program entailed learning the language, culture, history, etc. of each civilization. Equipped with what he had learned, he began his commentary. He noted that the US, in the late 60's, had an active feminist movement. Pointing to the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, he stated that both had traveled down that road. In both instances, once women rose to power, homosexuals were soon elevated to equal status. Once this occurred, each civilization collapsed. He then predicted that "within your lifetime, you will see the collapse of the US."
Keep in mind, this was the late 60's, in the US of A. Upon hearing his comments, I laughed heartily. I attributed his views to envy for a country that was healthy and powerful, unlike Italy. I stopped laughing decades ago, as I witnessed his predictions become reality. What's most alarming, however, is that this situation is not limited to the US. It is worldwide! There is no escape, no country to which one can flee for shelter from this storm. If anything, because we are still such a strong christian nation, we have been able to avoid the same issues that have plagued so many other nations.
With the passage of the same sex marriage bill in the NYS Senate, and the passage of legalized same sex unions in Rhode Island, the tide has progressed from simply lapping the shores of our country. Already the governor of Maryland is looking into a bill to legalize ssm in that state.
We live in very dark times. In the 7th Book of Matthew, we are told:
13. "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.14. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.
As the society around us collapses, we must draw strength from those words.

WOW!
st. francis
Are you sure that the prophecies of St. Malachy are approved? I understood that they weren’t. I’ll have to do some research.
