The Sola Scriptura crowd would have us believe that there was no Church for generations after the Great Commission was given until the Apostles took a break from what they were assigned in Scripture (Baptizing and converting all nations) to do what they were not assigned in Scripture (writing books).That grotesque caricature of Sola Scriptura is so ludicrous I can't tell if it is just ignorance or willful misrepresentation.
For starters, NO ONE denies that the Gospel was at first preached orally by the Apostles, or that the Church began at Pentecost.

NO ONE denies that the Gospel was at first preached orally by the Apostles, or that the Church began at Pentecost.not strictly correct. Messianic Jews and some Adventists disagree that the Church began at the Pentecost..
