Are you of the opinion that a Mormon should never be elected President?
Yes, it is my opinion that an indoctrinated Mormon should never be elected as President of the United States of America. Indoctrinated temple Mormons (as Romney is) have experienced years of brainwashing and indoctrination and also have made covenants and oaths that they plainly cannot disobey.
Mitt Romney and all temple Mormons have sworn to obey The Law of Consecrationin the secret temple ceremonies which states "You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at the altar, the you do accept the Law of Consecration as contained in The Doctrine and Covenants (a Mormon book), in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, an everything with which the Lord has bless you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church), for the building up of the Kingdom of God on earth and for the establishment of Zion."
Ex-Mormon Ed Decker reveals the penalty for disobedience that was made by Mitt Romney (and all temple Mormons) at the time he took out his temple endowments: The "execution of the penalty" for disobedience was demonstrated "by placing the thumb under the left ear, the palm of the hand down, and by drawing the thumb quickly across the throat to the right ear, and dropping the hand to the side."

There is only one King, Lord Jesus Christ whose Kingdom is not of this world!
- - - - -
You seem to have forgotten that Joseph Smith declared himself King.
And the second endowment makes people kings and queens also.
William Marks stated that the [LDS] Council of Fifty performed an ordinance in which Joseph suffered himself to be ordained a king, to reign over the house of Israel forever. Some have been uncomfortable with the assertion that Smith became a king. They have claimed that Marks and other critics either confused or misrepresented Smiths reception of the strictly religious ceremony of the second anointing as king and priest.
In fact a later revelation to the Council of Fifty affirmed that God called Smith to be a Prophet, Seer and Revelator to my Church and Kingdom; and to be a King and Ruler over Israel. (The Mormon Hierarchy, Origins of Power, 124)
ROFL, Resty, ROFL
There is no evidence for the BoM resty, certainly none that a NON-LDS scholar would support.
Hard Evidence for The Book of Mormon
- - - -
Any of that by non-LDS scholars? Because I don’t know any archeologist who takes the ‘book of Mormon’ seriously.
I don’t think resty was talking about Heaven. I am pretty sure she was referring to the LDS teaching that right before Jesus comes back to Missouri to set up his 1000 yr reign (with the LDS first presidency), that the ‘gentiles’ will be begging on Zion (Missiouri’s) door for food and to escape the problems in Babylon (the outside world). This also ties into their requirements for food storage and the like.
The LDS believe this whole nation is divine providence it was the Lord who is the author of our constitution and our founding Father was able to receive inspiration.
-= - - - - - -
How could that possibly be since they were all apostates and didn’t have the LDS priesthood?
And Resty, I can document anti-US oaths in the LDS temple clear up until 1927.
And the LDS are not Christians so don’t cry we aren’t cordial. Besides RIghtwardHo’s comments were VERY cordial, unlike yours.
keep trying to demean the LDS a day will come if you are still alive when you will have to humble yourself to knock on ZION door or be subject to the world.... [resty]
I have no interest in knocking at ZION door. [Mark]

Yep, she is referring to the LDS teaching/idea that the ‘gentiles’ will have to come begging for food and such from LDS inc.
Ironically, it was Bruce McConkie that wrote the most on the subject.
Many of the founding fathers were Masons which are practically identical to Mormons.

Only regarding their Temple ceremonies. In everything else they are far different and not even close to Masons.

WOW! How vengeful does THAT sound?? We know that you appear to actually believe that you mormons will have a say in who joins God in His Heavenly Kingdom!

Still lacking a contrite heart
Over and over the anti actions have shown a lack of a sincere heart, with real intent, for the (anti) natural man has nothing of the Lord in them!
Moroni 10
3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
6 And whatsoever thing is good is just and true; wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledgeth that he is.
7 And ye may know that he is, by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore I would exhort you that ye deny not the power of God; for he worketh by power, according to the faith of the children of men, the same today and tomorrow, and forever.

Do you even see the logical fallacies in Moroni’s promise?
ROTFL....do you REALLY expect to convince anyone of anything by posting from Moroni?
Only that the world is still very much with you!
... why post from mormonic verses when the God's Word, the Bible is available online?
Why did the mormon gods speak in 1600s Elizabethan English - when Joseph Smith translated it in the 1800s.
A. They are trapped in a wrinkle in time and unable to get out, proving they are not gods
B. They're jes' messin' with you!
C. Joe's ears were stopped up from having his head in stuffed in a hat
D. It's bogus
No, Christ is very much with me. Which isn’t true for the LDS.
The problem with Moroni’s promise is it puts any ‘failure’ on the person. If they don’t feel its ‘true’ then they aren’t sincere, don’t have real intent, or don’t have faith in Christ. Therefore the weak and easily led will convince themselves it IS true, because they will keep praying until they get the answer they are told to have.
Smart people can see this.
Would you betray your God for the sake of your country, or betray your country for the sake of your God?
Just wondering.
I’m sure most everybody, Mormons included, can’t see any realistic situation where there would ever be such a conflict requiring such a choice, unless perhaps if Obama is elected again. Mormons have a track record of devotion to the ideas of the constitution. Paranoid religious bigotry like this would disgust the founding fathers.
What is the problem if somebody wants to devote what is theirs to their own church? Don’t we believe in property rights here? You don’t want government telling you what you do with your property but you feel it’s OK to punish others for what they do with theirs even when it does you no harm?
Can you even provide one real life example of where a Mormon proved themselves to be unfit for responsible positions specifically because of whatever promises they made?
What this boils down to is religious bigotry looking for a cloak to dress up as legitimate opposition.
“Paranoid religious bigotry like this would disgust the founding fathers.”
Mittgotry! I tell you it’s Mittgotry!
Enjoy your Readers Degest (abridge) version of the Word of the Lord
"What THIS boils down to is religious bigotry (and anti-Christian rhetoric) looking for a cloak to dress up as legitimate opposition."
Only a mormon whould even consider that a choice. Why would any citizen even think of voting for one for POTUS?
