Please post you prayers for the success of Fr. John Corapi in his new apostolate.
This man is involved in a difficult transition and needs our prayers.
May the Lord be with his spirit, now and forever.
For your pings.
For your pings.
My prayer would be that the wisdom of the Holy Spirit could bring him humility and grace in his difficulties.
Six tries on that last post. Bye for now.
I am far from sure that he has made the right decision. Even if he has been falsely accused, his decision seems questionable to me.
I pray that God will guide him in the right way, whatever that might be.
No prayers from me in that regard. He’s been planning this “transition” for quite some time ...
Why would he file for a trademark for “The Black-Sheep Dog” almost a full year before he was accused?

i pray faithful Catholics will not be fooled by false teachers and hypocrites.
I don’t understand any of this, and I am vexed by John Corapi’s recent choices and statements.
But, I know this without a doubt. He strikes a very strong cord with me — I very much like listening to what he says.
He strengthens me.
For a guy who is supposed to be an example of Christian Humility, turns out he is a fake, an arrogant worldly filled with self-grandeur. Good riddance!
I will be happy to pray for Father Corapi.
As for the “Black Sheepdog”...not so much.
I 2nd that statement and those of the other posters. Fr. Corapi preached on the warfare against satan. When put to the test, however, he himself folds like a cheap tent.
Some of you may recall another priest who preached authentic catholic teachings, through his homilies. In 2006, Archbishop Flynn silenced him - Faithful Priest Silenced by Archbishop Flynn for Criticism of Virtus Program. There was an immediate uproar in the blogosphere but Fr. Altier obeyed his bishop. Five years later, he is still remembered and included in many of our prayers.
Fr. Corapi, I expect, will end up like Fr. Francis Mary Stone. After doffing his collar, he will go into the business of preaching as a lay person. As of now, we have no additional information on the nature of that venture. Only time will tell.
Fr. John Corapi is on my daily prayer list and will remain there. Only God can judge his actions.
I have no where near the knowledge about him a good many here do and a lot of folks seem to think he has been a great help to Catholics. Were it not for there being so much said in his favor by folks here on FR and who I know locally, I'd be in total agreement with your comment.
The situation reminds me too much of cases I've seen in non-Catholic churches where the leadership would have some sort of spat that would only be described in generalities, but one or more folks would don the cloak of righteousness and leave to start their own church. I wasn't expecting that sort of approach from a priest who others have so much respect for as a Catholic. It's also not like they've had him "on ice" for very long, really. You'd think he would have waited a couple of years at least. So, the "black sheepdog" thing is obviously more important to him than is the priesthood which is another red flag of sorts to me.
From the little I've read of his, he seems to be a very solid Catholic so I'm not really sure what to think at this point. One thing for sure, I can completely understand where you're coming from.
Regards
We don’t know any of that, but I think that given his particular gift of preaching, and the atmosphere in the American Church, he found a way to fight on.
If you listened to him for the last decade or so his self-understanding was exactly that, Black Sheep Dog. I have no doubt that attempts to silence him were made before.
Where is Fr. Corapi a false teacher or hypocrite?
This is why I pray that he soldiers on as a lay preacher.
How is removing from oneself a privilege of public priesthood is “arrogant”? What’s wrong with you people?
He is both. You either pray for the man or you don’t.
Where did he "fold"? We found a way to fight on when the original fight was blocked.
Fr. Altier obeyed his bishop.
Where did Fr. Corapi disobeyed his bishop? Did the bishop tell him "Sit home and wear a collar"?
