start their own church

This is not a Protestant setting and Fr. Corapi indicated no intention to "start his own church". He continues his apostolate, which has always been preaching, as a lay apostolate. God bless him.

He applied to trademark the words "black sheep-dog" over a year ago.

In other words, this was no last second inspiration. And, as memory serves, this predates the accusation and predates his superior placing him on administrative leave.

Like I said, I will pray for him, "a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek," but as for 'Black-Sheep Dog', well, even assuming everything he said was totally factual and not a bunch of angst, somebody will need to explain why this mark was applied for over a year ago and the brand only launched...of all days...the day prior to the date designated for priestly ordinations.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean I thought he would start his own church, I was saying that I'm uncomfortable to see someone take the same sort of approach to solving differences with the Church hierarchy after having seen it elsewhere. Particularly when he is leaving the priesthood to continue his ministry by other means. I do not think that he will be starting his own church or even a reasonable facsimile thereof.

Regards

I will pray for him. I think his rant against the Bishop of Austin (I think it was Austin) was uncalled for and showed an extreme lack of charity. It also to me showed a seed of rebellion and disobedience. I suspect this was brought on by stress and possibly mental health issues.

I think it is a very real possibility that he is BiPolar and we are seeing an extreme manic reaction to the events in his life. So please do not assume he is a fake. He may be suffering under very real attack, both mentally and from the enemy.

He was called to the priesthood by God so I cannot see how I could pray for success in something not according to God's will. I will pray for him though. He has done much good in the Church and this new effort by him will cause division.

The Black Sheep Dog

Over ten thousand people were gathered as sixty-two of us processed down the nave of St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. At the end of the procession was the Holy Father, Pope John Paul II—a man immersed in prayer, a man of grace and holiness, a man surely destined to become a saint. As I arrived at my place I glanced a few feet behind me, and there was the familiar and unforgettable presence of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, flanked by two of her Missionaries of Charity. A saint in front of me, and a saint behind me—the music, the art, the history, and the beauty of the Church’s tradition were overwhelming. I was about to be ordained a priest.

Finally, I knelt before the Successor of St. Peter. His hands rested on my head as he conferred the sacrament of Holy Orders. A thousand dark and desperate moments, like malevolent soldiers from another time, crashed the gate, and at what seemed like the speed of a single thought, my whole life passed before me.

I was terrified, and I had no idea where I was. My head and my heart were pounding from the effects of three days of a cocaine-induced hell. What goes up must come down, and the law of gravity was functioning just as predictably on my body and mind as it does on all material objects. The White Lady is seductive and exotic when first you meet her, but in the end she’s a cruel and heartless lover. She’ll leave you more desolate, cold, and miserable than you ever could imagine. If she doesn’t give you a heart attack, she may convince you to kill yourself, for the dark depths of despair can be unbearable.

The Black Sheep Dog is the name of his autobiography.

Authors start blogs for their books. He’s being writing his autobiography for years so it’s not surprising he started a blog. Many authors leave it too long...

Don’t forget he was a big moneyman CEO of a huge company. Business was his forte.

That is the problem.

He was a big moneyman....

He IS a priest, ontologically configured after Christ. Ordered (as in arranged) to act in persona Christi through the sacraments.

His life should be the epitome of Romans 12:1.

Not a marketing campaign for the next new product line.

Frankly, I was 150% in his corner. Until this.

>> I am far from sure that he has made the right decision. Even if he has been falsely accused, his decision seems questionable to me.

>> I pray that God will guide him in the right way, whatever that might be.

I concur.

Even if Fr. Corapi foresaw that it might come to that before he was accused of anything, all it shows is foresight. However, as others noted, that is his autobiography’s title.

I understand. I am uncomfortable too. It looks like so is Fr. Corapi. I am not suggesting we should celebrate this, far from it.

lack of charity

Of over 250 American bishops there is maybe 30 who deserve charity. The rest would tolerate all manner of pro-abort homos in their clique but would hound a conservative priest to death. I am not sure if that particular bishop is any good, but I would not bet on it. I trust Fr. Corapi more than his bishop, sorry.

That is the point: I am certain Fr. Corapi is doing the God's will by staying in public ministry and foregoing public priesthood. He is a soldier who lost a limb but stays in battle.

That is not how this works. You accused someone of falsehood and hypocrisy, so kindly cite Fr. Corapi and point out what is false teaching and hypocrisy, on this thread, or refrain from your slanders.

he accused the Church of treating him like an enemy, enough said. the man has gotten very, very rich off of the Gospel, i don’t like men glorifying themselves over Jesus Christ. he is a joke and will become more of one now that he doesn’t have the constraints of the priesthood. i look forward to the evidence that he didn’t want to come out about himself, but now surely will. he is nothing more than a “catholic” jimmy swaggart or jim baker. it’s a shame he’s been able to fool so many people so many years.

Like I said, his situation and attitude is described by one word: ARROGANCE. It’s all about HIM. Well, as far as I’m concerned, I don’t follow humans, I follow Christ, so those who defend him and people like him are misguided and need to focus on the CREATOR, not a creature!!

“lost a limb” such a gross comparison, we have real soldiers who have lost real limbs, this man is laughing all the way to the bank. i see a house in malibu in his future! ( if he doesn’t have one already ) has he efer released his tax returns? i haven’t met many men of God who have parlayed their ministry into millions. all because he has a deep voice!!
