Camping didn’t use Sola Scripture. To think so is absurd on its face. If he was using Sola Scripture he would have included the fact that scripture says no one knows the day or hour, not even Jesus but the Father only.

Excellent point! One that has been repeated numerous times on the threads concerning Camping. It seems some people cannot resist the opportunity to slam their idea of sola scriptura.

Also, they are desperate to believe that the Rapture, a doctrine that God clearly spells out in Scripture, is false.

It is the fear of not being ready to face Jesus Christ.

Harold Camping did a favor for many people. He gave them a crutch besides the word "dispensation" to deny Scripture and convince themselves that the "Church" to whom the Rapture applies and to which they have a sick, nagging suspicion that they may not belong, will not be going anywhere.

After all, Harold Camping proved that the Biblical doctrine of the Rapture is a lie. Right?

We need to understand I suppose, that not looking at the whole of scripture and relying on those that add too or take away from scripture is part of who they are and their way of interpreting. We are warned about those that rely on something other then the written word of God and compare what man says against that.

Those that claim something other then what is in scripture are clearly denying the true word of God.

don’t let Camping know this, he claims to be following “sola scriptura”.
but so do the Baptists, Presbyterians, Onesness, Brethern, Methodists, Anglicans, JW’S, etc, etc......all teaching conflicting doctrines, yet all claiming sola scriptura.

again my friends, the Holy Spirit is not the author of confusion and Jesus has One Church ( which has been here since 33ad )
