She should just say that she was actually in love with Benihana!
That reads as pretty candid, honest, Biblical, to me.
I have no need to throw rocks at her.
Rock throwing tends to be a pretty hazardous hobby.
These people lie effortlessly. Their god is fame and fortune.
Or in the case of Hinn, "We're getting our hair plugs."
Years ago I would be watching CNBC early in the morning before going to the office to see how the overseas markets were doing. Sometimes the cable company would be late in switching the channel, since the channel was shared with BET. BET had Robert Tilton in the time slot. After watching some of his schtick, I concluded that his favorite hymn was by a dear sister from Port Arthur, TX. It goes like this:
Oh Lord, wont you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So Lord, wont you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
Oh Lord, wont you buy me a color TV ?
Dialing For Dollars is trying to find me.
I wait for delivery each day until three,
So oh Lord, wont you buy me a color TV ?
Oh Lord, wont you buy me a night on the town ?
[- From :http://www.elyrics.net/read/j/janis-joplin-lyrics/mercedes-benz-lyrics.html -]
Im counting on you, Lord, please dont let me down.
Prove that you love me and buy the next round,
Oh Lord, wont you buy me a night on the town ?
Everybody!
Oh Lord, wont you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends,
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So oh Lord, wont you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
Thats it!
Oh,the poor, poor people! There is so much sorrow! I don’t care any more if it’s self-inflicted. The sinner who has no one to blame but himself is in the most pitiable condition, and in the most need of our prayers, it seems to me.
Who is Paula White?
Pastor Paula White
Per Wikipedia (Your Mileage May Vary), "Paula considers T.D. Jakes her spiritual father. " (though Church w/out Walls' statement of faith seems orthodox, WRT the Trinity).
Just thought I'd mention that.
Paula White Scam Causes Single Mother To Stop Attending Church
Posted by Job on June 12, 2007
TAMPA LaShonda Dupree heard the drum roll, saw the gleaming lights and the television cameras as she stood on stage at Without Walls International Church.
She was a 20-year-old single mother of three with bad credit and an apartment she could afford only with government assistance.
As the music crescendoed, she realized shed won the top prize in an essay contest: a brand new, $100,000 house in Temple Terrace.
Congratulations on your new home! Pastor Paula White told Dupree.
I dont know if you know this or not, but its not just a house, Pastor Randy White informed the roaring crowd. It comes with all the furniture inside, too.
Dupree was jubilant, nearly in tears, as her children joined her onstage.
I was like, this is not real, Dupree recalled of the giveaway Nov. 17, 2002, at Without Walls Lakeland campus.
As it turns out, it wasnt.
Today Dupree, 25, lives with her children in a house she rents in Riverview for $673 a month. She is no closer to homeownership than she was during the churchs Home For The Holidays presentation. The event and the familys subsequent tour of the house Whose room is this? Whos going to get the bunk bed? Paula White asks Duprees daughters aired repeatedly on the Christian Television Network.
Dupree has said little about her experience until a story Sunday in The Tampa Tribune detailed problems at Without Walls. It is one of the largest independent nondenominational churches, collecting $40 million a year in revenue. Detractors say its pastors borrowed $170,000 from an elderly widow and never kept promises to care for her or pay it back. Since 2000, five businesspeople have sued or filed liens against the church or the pastors, accusing them of not paying bills or reneging on deals.
This week, Dupree said she is another victim.
It was like, Hey, everybody, look at all the good were doing here! But they didnt tell the rest of the story, which is the recipient never got the house, she said.
Robert Fruster was the man on stage announcing the winners. He felt terrible about what happened, he said.
We needed to live up to what we said we were going to do, said Fruster, a former Without Walls pastor.
It Began With A Class
Through a public relations company, Randy White issued a statement that said the giveaway did not turn out the way he had hoped.
We tried to do a good thing, and it backfired, the statement said. However, White said the contest clearly stated that the winner got a down payment, not the house.
.. and millions in the bank..
HOLY ANGER: American Evangelist, Benny Hinn Leaves Nigeria In Annoyance
Ghana Home Page/May 13, 2005
American evangelist, Benny Hinn left Nigeria in annoyance, saying $4million went down the drain in 3-day crusade. When the charismatic American evangelist, Dr. Benny Hinn arrived in Nigeria on April 28, he was looking forward to a quintessential crusade that would be attended by about six million people.
His expectations were high because he had already sunk $4million dollars (about N600million) into the 3-day crusade that is now being trailed by controversy. Dr. Hinn could not hide his disappointment on the third day of the crusade when he said with regret that the money he pumped into the project could have been put to better use.
Four million dollars down the drain! he reportedly shouted during the crusade, with his voice cracking with emotion. Giving a breakdown of the money spent after the crusade, Jon Wilson, vice president of the Benny Hinn Ministries said $3million was spent on hotel accommodation, transportation, technical infrastructure and other items, while the remaining money running into about N140million was used up by members of the local organizing committee.
Hypes and great expectations had heralded the coming of the world renowned healing evangelist to Africas most populous nation, but the organisers were reportedly scored very low by Hinn, who insinuated money business and told organisers that they got many things wrong. More was his anger when he learnt that the organisers collected N1,000 each from pastors who turned out to attend the Ministers Conference, which was part of the three-day programme.
This and many other discoveries allegedly led the preacher to pronounce publicly that no further fund will be provided by his organisation after the programme, to settle outstanding bills. He asked that the offering collected on two of the three days be used for that purpose.
Matthew 7:23 (King James Version)
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
She sure does like to say the ‘I” alot doesn’t she.
The first 3 words speak volumes:
“Pastor Paula White”
It gets worse, though:
“I came to put every devil on notice ... I’m getting my dream back, I’m getting my prophesy back, I’m getting my vision back, I’m getting my anointing back, I’m getting my strength back.”
Guess she’s going to do it all on her own.
“16 For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it;
you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.
17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.” - Psalms 51
Millions in the bank? From a "ministry"?
Fleecing the flock is more like it. She ought to be ashamed of herself banking millions off of the good faith donations of others.
