It is a left-leaning paper, and quite often heretical. As you are not Catholic, you can, I guess, be forgiven for having fallen for their shtick. Sorry to disappoint you, Alex. This article is, without question, incorrect and inaccurate. John 6, and Matthew, as well as the rest of the Word of God, still applies. And this old chestnut:

I need to point out that this is not National Catholic Fishwrap but the National Catholic Register. Please read the article and not just what Mr. Murphy excerpted. You will see that it is a good report on how Catholics study and read the Bible.
