Madonna 'ditches Kabbalah for Opus Dei'
UK Daily Mirror ^ | April 11 2011 | Tom Bryant

FOR the past 15 years, she has been Kabbalah’s most high profile and dedicated follower. But now Madonna has apparently ditched the controversial faith and taken up with Opus Dei – the secretive Catholic sect made famous in The Da Vinci Code. The singer is said to be intrigued by the organisation and spent Friday with priests from the centre’s London HQ. The move follows her alleged falling out with some Kabbalah leaders after reports that cash raised for her Malawi charity was squandered. Last night a source claimed: “She has invested so much into Kabbalah so she was devastated by these damning accusations. “She has started exploring different religions. Madonna has always been intrigued by Opus Dei. As yet, she’s not a fully paid-up member – she’s just had informal chats.”

“But, then I would have been among those doubting Alice Cooper when he became Christian and look at him now (ok, don’t look, but read about his Christian life!)”

God judges the inward man.
What’s the problem with his “outwards”?
He’s perfectly nice to look at.

I see Madonna as another Ann Rice and we all know how long that reversion lasted.

It can’t be too secretive...I get daily messages and ponderings from Opus Dei in my email.

She can return to the Catholic faith if she wants to, but because she is divorced, she cannot be given Absolution or take part in any Sacraments without approval from the Church.

A friend of mine wanted to go back to the Church and she was divorced and remarried and was told it would take her years to get approval from the Bishop and because her current husband is not a Catholic, she may not get approval anyway...

She’s searching.

“If with all your heart you truly seek Me, you shall find Me.”

Problem is, is she really being honest with herself?. IMHO, she is really desirous of finding Him, but being a Christian demands we become humble fools for God. That’s so un PC. She seems to want to work her way to God, on her own terms.

I’d love to see her find Christ. She wants to be on fire for a belief; would’t it be great for her to find a REAL faith.

Exactly -- God judges the inward man or woman. But that's God, I'm not quite so forgiving of Madonni's antics! but that's just my personal opinion

She's likely going to Opes Dei because it's Spanish. She has a great attraction to Miami Cubans and Cuban culture. Likely some Cuban friend's parents steered her toward Opes Dei.

As far as “talks”, it's quite simple, she has to abandon her old ways, sins of the flesh (heterosexual & aberrosexual). She's never been married in the Church (that I know of), therefore that obstacle does not exist).

She has enough money that she can abandon the whole music scene. Of what I saw of her doing for entertainment in Miami (I would see her here and there during the daylight hours boating and jogging and such) she's not a big spender.

So, anything is possible.

Well, the problem is most of us Catholics don’t really want her.

As a Protestant, I would feel the same way. This woman just makes a mockery out of everything she touches.

I do hope it is for sincere reasons though, such as truly wanting to have a deep, full faith.

I think Kaballah has something to do with very mystical form of Judism? Bear with me, I have just gotten up, need plenty of coffee.

God can and does change people. For Madonna, as you said, would have to go through what is left of RCIA, and that takes about at least a year process, besides the life-long discernment as well. In my parish, 3 canidiates are coming into or being recieved into the Church Holy Saturday night.

Madonna’s scroungy inside and out.

Can’t say I’ve got much of a positive opinion of her at all, can I?

re: Well, the problem is most of us Catholics don’t really want her

1)You are not a Roman Catholic why do you persist in this lie?

2) This Catholic would welcome any truly repentant sinner. Mary Magdalene was a whore possessed by seven devils, and she became a braver Catholic than all the apostles (prior to Pentecost). Usually it is the repentant worst sinners that make the most steadfast Catholics.

Madonna is a baptized Catholic, she does not have to go through RCIA. She can just go to confession and then she can go to communion. Millions of Catholics do it every year.

I knew an old pastor that had excellent catechists teaching the faith from his own curricula, not the RCIA template. He was replaced by the bishop, and all the catechists were removed and replaced by people who didn't even qualify as average students. The RCIA is a joke. Better to learn on your own with someone who really knows the faith.

Sigh... bg, here’s one poser I ignore. Any guy who wants to pretend to be traditional Catholic yet doesn’t know that Maronites, Syro-Malabars are Catholic rites, who calls the Church the RCC, who exclusively posts diatribes against Catholics, well.. I waste no time on him. I’d advise you to do the same. Perhaps the troll will go away if ignored by all.

Madonna is involved with a specific cult, the KABBALAH CENTRE run by the Berg family. It is universally denounced by anyone who knows anything about actual Kabbalah, which is mystical knowledge of Judaism.

Kabbala is an ancient Jewish tradition integral to the Torah
Kabbalah: A Brief Definition

By Baruch Emanuel Erdstein

Often referred to as the “soul” of the Torah, the Kabbalah is an ancient Jewish tradition which teaches the deepest insights into the essence of G-d, His interaction with the world, and the purpose of Creation.

Kabbalah teaches the essential Jewish cosmology, integral to all other Torah disciplines. Sometimes called “the Inner Torah” or the “Wisdom of Truth”, it offers a comprehensive overall structure and plan for the universe, as well as a detailed understanding of the particulars of our lives.

The student of Kabbalah is made aware of the personal as well as the collective rectification process and is encouraged to play an active part in it.

Who doubtlessly told her:

  1. Repent of the sins of your past life, and resolve not to continue in them
  2. Regularize your marital situation in the eyes of the church
  3. Make a good confession, and continue to do so on a regular basis
  4. Devoutly attend Holy Mass at least weekly
  5. Develop a "plan of life" involving a regular pattern of daily prayer and spiritual reading
Let's see what she does with that.
