Thanks for posting. If Jesus is to be our Example, did He hide and find Easter eggs, wear a crucifix or say three Hail Marys whenever the time seemed right? That may be a rhetorical question for the audience or not. Come to think of it, He worshiped on the Sabbath not Sunday.

Protestants, including myself, believe that the Bible is true. Therefore, any belief that contradicts it can not be true. Because the Bible specifically prohibits contacting the dead, we do not pray to saints. Furthermore, when the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, the prayer that Jesus gave them was addressed to “Our Father.” Jesus never felt the need to expand this teaching. This is why Protestant do not pray to saints.

What a great testimony, bkaycee. Thanks for posting it!

Recently, a person whom I love dearly, and who has a "Marian devotion" asked me, "Why are you bothering the people who are already good people instead of worrying about those who are lost?" The answer came to me the other evening as the Lord continues to guide me through His sacred Word. Saint Paul wrote that "Satan masquerades as an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14). We know the mother of Jesus would never oppose her Son, and since the apparitions do just that, they could very well be Satan masquerading as Mary. Saint Paul also wrote, "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them . . . everything exposed by the light becomes visible" (Ephesians 5:11-14). Therefore, I feel called to expose these attempts by the evil one to divert people's devotion away from Jesus. The most authoritative way to do this is with the light of God's Holy Word. My new test for truthfulness is -- if it does not agree with the Scriptures then it must be rejected.

AMEN!

Until recently I was serving as Director of Public Relations for the Queen of Peace Center in Dallas, Texas. This non-profit organization disseminates information and messages from Marian apparitions in Medjugorje and around the world.

The Church has never endorsed the so-called apparitions at Medjugorje. Most Catholics I know consider them to be fraudulent. That said, there is nothing in Scripture that demands that all such apparitions need be fraudulent. Christians have been having visions of Christ since St. Paul and apparitions of the Blessed Virgin go back a long ways as well.

It seems to me that to deny outright that such things could happen puts a limit on the power of God.

What this woman could have done at the onset was to question decades-long apparitions that have not been approved by the Church. I've met more kooky people (and I mean almost off their rockers) that have devoted thousands of dollars *every single year* to chase this Yugoslavian ghost, when the real miracle is at the altar only minutes away from their homes. If the writer of this post enjoys traveling in search for the Real Truth, however, she might like to visit Lourdes (a Church-approved apparition) and also the in-corrupt body of St. Bernadette as well.

When I was growing up in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba we would hear of Mary appearing at the fenceline about once every few months. The Cubans told us that the Mary dressed in black meant death, when Mary dressed in red it meant bloodshed was coming, and the times she dressed in white meant something good (I don’t remember exactly what the good stuff was. Those visitations were more rare.)

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 13For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

That is the only thing these apparitions could be, no matter who they portray themselves as or who anyone claims them to be.

“Recently, a person whom I love dearly, ... asked me, ‘Why are you bothering the people who are already good people instead of worrying about those who are lost?’”

Did you tell your friend that “good people” can also
be “lost” people. Being good doesn’t get a person to Heaven.

Isaiah 64:6 (KJV) But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.

Romans 3:10 (KJV) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Actually, seemingly good people are often the most difficult to realize their need for salvation because they are... well... good. Acts of goodness don’t rescue people from Hell; it’s salvation and a personal relationship with Christ.

Wow! So much hate here and during Holy Week?

“Why do you look at the twig in your brother’s eye, but you do not feel the beam in your own eye? Hypocrite, first remove the beam from your own eye, and then you will see how to remove the twig from your brother’s eye.”

I may not be a theologian but I’m pretty sure hatred for fellow Christians qualifies as a beam.

I knew this article was trouble when I got to this line...
“Mike realized he had forgotten to pray before starting the film”.
I guess praying wasn’t a priority.

Additionally...Catholic’s pray to Mary for her intercession with her Son Jesus. Just like seeking indirect help through another means. We Glorify her....and ask for her help.
The rosary indicates this....Pray for us Sinners now until the hour of our death.

Born again Christians should not follow signs and wonders. Jesus said “Signs and wonders will follow those that believe.” (paraphrased version)
