The great apostasy is nothing more than those who depart from the faith in Jesus Christ, or more to the point, departing from trusting on, and in the finished work of the vicarious sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

The will of the father, or, doing his work is the great commission, his commandment, his priority.

The great commission is spreading the Gospel of the Good News of Jesus Christ to all the ends of the Earth.
For the lord will be coming back and see if his faithful servants are working in the fields that are white unto harvest.
Yes, we better be ready for the end times and doing the Lord's work of spreading the Gospel.

And as we see from events which are going on in the world, which are both fulfillment and stage-setting for the return of Christ, time is rapidly running out for the Church to carry out the Great Commission.
