narses, prayers are up for all your requests. Please let us know how your father is doing.
I was listening to Radio Maria” Praise and worship” show the priest was talking about nuns in a convent during the Vietnam era who had an Adoration hour. Well the Viet cong leader took his gun to shoot the host as he was aiming he had complete deathly heart attack. He fell over dead to the floor. Some story.
I can believe that . . .
from a couple of perspectives.
I just picked up HEAVEN IS FOR REAL re 4 year old Colton’s story, from our mailbox on my way in from class.
It is the real deal and I’m only on chapter 1.
PRAISE GOD. What a special little boy.
Yes. I read some of it from the Book(at book store) also condensed versions on the web. Notice he knew his brother who died but no one told him about.
There is plenty of evidence in history and in the Bible that we will have to go through all of the troubled times before Christ comes. I think this was a visitation by the darkness pretending to be the light...he told her that the preachers need to preach the direct word of God...for heaven sakes, that is much of what is wrong with the church today. A whole lot of reading the bible and very little understanding and showing people how to be still and pray in a life changing way. Mostly a bunch of history and that is why we are in such a mess, or largely why. The devil will come as an angel of light...watch out for this one!
INDEED.
And, saw his mom on the phone in a room alone and Dad praying in another room all while he was “out” on the operating table in a different room.
I understand the logic of your perspective.
In this case, I have a different perspective.
I appreciate your kind response.
ok...fhu.com has the be still exercise which is a true way to pray...watch and not ramble to God...but really move towards the light.
Thanks for your suggestion.
I think John Wimber’s favorite prayer is a great one:
“HELP!”
Thanks for the book recommendation!
It is a WONDERFUL READ.
Am already on p 57. What a special little boy.
What a special work of God’s Grace in that family’s life.
At least get the translation right:
" Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God; the Lord is one."
It may be weird to you, but you seem to think you have some kind of authority to instruct me how and when I can use scripture. I was just trying to determine how you came to that delusion.
"The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned".
God's Word is spiritually discerned since it is Holy Spirit inspired.
That's all fine and dandy but does not address your claim that "Everything you need to know is in God's Word." Show me the scripture that says so.
God doesn't go against His own Word.
That's correct.
Your lack of spiritual discernment is showing.
You're one to talk. You have to know what spiritual discernment is before claiming someone lacks it.
There is no confusion on my part; however, your post displays confusion, lack of understanding and basically, nothing of importance - just babble
There's plenty of confusion on your part. It's funny you're the one accusing someone else of babble. Just look at your goofy post.
Bump for truth!
What traditions would those be?
I've asked different Catholics that every time they quote the verse and have yet to have ONE Catholic tell me what the traditions were that Paul was referring to.
So be the first to tell us. When Paul tells them to keep the traditions passed on to them, what traditions were those and how do you know?
As opposed to the Catholics the ones with homosexual and pedophile priests?
Yes, as opposed to Catholics who sin. These sins are against Catholic doctrine, and those who are engaged in it are participating in grave sin according to the teachings of the Church.
Whereas female pastors, homosexual marriage, birth control etc. are now endorsed as a part of Protestant doctrine ever-changing with the times. There's no comparison; thanks for bringing it up.
Have a read through the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It discusses the Traditions of the Church which have been passed down. Also, the point of the quote of Paul's is only to demonstrate that Tradition is not prohibited. If you think Tradition is prohibited, prove it from Scripture in light of Paul's directives on it.
