Ditto to you lead-in statement.
This is like anti-discrimination gone haywire. I don’t know who opened the can of worms, but in my opinion, it stinks.
Methodist Caucus
Presbyterian Caucus
Lutheran Caucus
Catholic Caucus
Catholic/Orthodox Caucus
I can even see reformed caucus (only 500 years old)
But the sola sciptura and bible caucuses are haywire — basically discrimantory in my opinion.

I will join no caucus that would have me as a member. And furthermore, why a duck?
Interesting, a little over five hours since posting and already well over 300 replies. That’s better than one per minute. Maybe there really was a need for such a thread. My hat is off to the wisdom of the moderators.
The Orthodox also were involved in the dispute and believed they should always be included in Catholic Caucuses. But there was an interest among the Latin Rite Catholics to caucus among themselves.
The issues of "once a Catholic, always a Catholic" was also raised.
And it went round and round.
The previous dispute was ended when I explained that the caucus titles are used for moderating purposes to determine who should not be posting on the thread and from that day forward Catholic Caucus would include any Freeper who currently, actively believes in Papal Supremacy. And if the caucus is to include Orthodox, the designation "Catholic/Orthodox Caucus" is to be used.
At post 110 you quote me with emphasis as follows:
Non-members would include those who embrace Sacred Traditions such as Catholics, Jews who embrace the Talmud, Atheists, Agnostics, Mormons who embrace the Book of Mormon, etc.
If anyone wishes to challenge a caucus label or whether the article is appropriate for a caucus, send me a Freepmail.
Do NOT disturb a caucus by making challenges on thread.
this is a silly caucus
So, let’s see what the fruit of this thread.
All the usual suspects having a huge party. All flavors of them.
And being called a whiner by the owner.
I told you. I’ve brought this up over and over amongst the group. We are here until what we believe is targeted. Until we become too much of a thorn in the side of those who are more equal than others, and we will be driven away too. It’s happened before, we may well be next.
We have a very short time until Ash Wednesday. We need to be still and know that He is in control.
We need some rules...How much whining do I have to do to join your thread??? Is once enough???
Here’s the point, which is old and pretty much outdated, some people show up as trolls, don’t reply to their comments. I would honestly provide a link to dealing with internet trolls here:
http://www.teamtechnology.co.uk/troll-tactics.html
There are trolls everywhere, and honestly, just because some troll wants to post offensivsly, with stupidity, or both, doesn’t mean shutting down some forums. In addition, if someone violates the rules of posting (i.e. no profanity, no personal attacks, no racism or violence in posts, repeatedly, make note of the username and report it) If some post turns out to be a little rediculous and not worth one’s while, ignore it, and don’t respond. I’ve seen plenty of trolls in my day, and just because they can say some rediculous remarks doesn’t mean shutting down the group.
I’m calling “BABY RUTH”!
Is there a “Poster Sucked In To Reading Threads Because the Title Is So Damned Vague I Didn’t Know It’s Another Religious Thread” caucus?
Theres one I qualify for.
Natural Law:
As long as the various Protestant groups represented here or other groups designate a thread as “Caucus” to discuss their own Theological positions and propose them for discussion and that thread does not get into a “compare and contrast”, then by all means I could care less as there is really nothing in most of those various traditions that interest me, and I would conjecture, most Catholics here.
There are few Traditional Anglicans and maybe some Lutherans who have some interesting things as those 2 groups have retained the Creeds and Liturgy and thus there is a better connection for charitable discussion between Catholics and Protestants from those Two traditions.
The only “Sola Scriptura” caucus thread that I saw that I questioned was the one regarding Egypt and its Christian population or lack thereof, etc. While the article mentioned that Egypt has a 10% Christian population, the article implied that what those Christians needed was American Protestantism, which in my view, was an implicit attack on the Coptic Orthodox Christians, who are probably 99% of the Christians in Egypt and have a history dating back to St. Mark in the 1st century.
Had the article in question stated there is chance to evangelize the 90% of Egypt’s population that is non-Christian, then I have no problem again, but it did mention the 10% of Egytians who belong to the Coptic Orthodox Church and thus the Eastern Orthodox should have been allowed to respond in that thread.
Still, if some group wants to form a caucus thread for discussing their own theology and tradition, go for it as from my perspective it actually helps because the threads labled Calvinist, Baptist, Joel Osteen, Pentecostal, Rapture/Dispensationalist caucus threads do not interest me at all. Period! and thus I save time.

Do you know where I could find that homeschooling thread that was ‘sola scriptura’ caucused? I’ve tried keywords ‘homeschool’, ‘homeschooling’, ‘sola scriptura’, etc, without luck.
