"Everything belongs to Christ now. It always has. "Jesus...by whom all things consist."

John 17:11-16, "And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world."

1 Pet. 3:3, "Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;"

The Greek word for "adorning" is the same for "world". In both passages Jesus is saying we are not world/culture affirming people. We are a "people apart" just as Israel was supposed to be when they were on the brink of entering Canaan. When they mixed with the world they apostatized.

We’re still waiting for the authentication of the “rapture” shout out from the DSS.
This particular Dead Sea Scroll does not per se mention being CAUGHT UP. However, it does mention RESURRECTIONS of the dead. Some would make a lot of such a distinction and some wouldn't.

Rapture Mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls

The scrolls read:

"The Rapture will occur suddenly. And countless thousands will vanish from the earth. Swept up to heaven to live with Jesus and escape the torment of the Tribulation, the others will be left behind." — The Dead Sea Scrolls

Post here.

This quote was from your slouch historian friend Holy Deyo.

What story are you sticking by these days?

You’re welcome to wait as long as it takes.

Holly Deyo is a very admirable Christian researcher . . . particularly compared to some REPLACEMENTARIAN-ISRAEL-DISSERS on FR.

Whether the ref is pinned down before The Lord rubs the facts in REPLACEMENTARIANS’ faces Himself, remains to be seen.

YES.

I’M ABSOLUTELY STICKING BY HOLLY DEYO’S ASSERTIONS.

But you apparently made a big deal about one of her biggest goof ups; the “rapture” appearing in the DSS.

At best, this appears to be a classic case of reading one’s aberrant theology back into ancient writings; i.e., the fraudulent teachings of Mr. Darby and the pre-trib rapture theory.

At worst, it’s an outright lie.

Real researchers don’t have an axe to grind, esp. one’s going by the name “Christian.” Futurist prognosticators, on the other hand, have been trying for decades to uncover the rapture in any writings earlier than 1830. They have failed miserably. Just another factoid on the fraud that is Darby-inspired futurism.

Your friend Deyo is just another example of this failure.

There is no rapture in the DSS. You can admit it now.

Have never doubted your extensive capacity to be grossly and terminally WRONG.

Have never doubted your extensive capacity to be grossly and terminally WRONG.

And so we learn once again that denial is not just a river in Egypt.

See my other comments about half-baked pseudo-theology. Half-baked pseudo-theologies don’t have answers. All they can do is scoff and mock lest the truth that their emperor is unclothed be noticed by all.

As I said before, being called “wrong” in this case is like being scolded by a drunk for walking a straight line. I wear it as a badge of honor for my Savior.
