Anyone who truly repents is truly forgiven. That is a true statement. However, it does not follow that because a man hangs the Christian label on himself that that makes him a Christian. The Apostle John would say that they leave us because they never really were part of us.

I repeat again that I am a Methodist and not a Lutheran.

I'm sorry -- I had incorrectly thought you were Lutheran.

Dr. Eck's group, the Ortho Presbyterian C (OPC) says a lot of not so nice things about you Methodists
the OPC says the following about those who reject the non-scriptural double-predestination doctrine of the followers of Calvin.
Arminianism is indeed a heresy,....

The Bible teaches that Christ did his atoning work on behalf of his elect people, and no others.....

Since the teachings of Arminianism are contrary to Scripture, they are manifestly false. They are serious perversions of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Are Arminian preachers heretics? In a sense, yes,

Is Arminianism a damnable heresy? Yes.
So, as an OPCer, do you believe that

The Calvinists also seem to go about screaming that Methodists teach a satanic gospel -- but I think it's because they don't like the fact that Methodists and Pentecostals teach about a loving God.

As a Methodist, what do you make of Dr. Eck's statement For example, (some) Lutherans, Pentecostals, Methodists do not believe in double-predestination

are there any Methodists that DO believe in double-predestination?

The main thing is that neither you Methodists, nor the Lutherans, nor Catholics/Orthodox say that God willfully pre-damns people to hell.
