Theres no organized system with a top down heirarchy in place as in the Catholic church, protecting any of these individuals. Very true. But since many of these churches are insulated from any sort of outside, or even inside scrutiny, sometimes those in authority feel untouchable. After all, who is going to question the word of a man of the cloth that weve known for umpteen years? Who watches the watchers?
