Evangelical book catalogs promote books such as Planet Earth: The Final Chapter, The Great Escape, and the Left Behind series. Bumper stickers warn us that the vehicles occupants may disappear at any moment. It is clear that there is a preoccupation with the idea of a secret rapture. Perhaps this has become more pronounced recently due to the expectation of a new millennium and the fears regarding potential Y2K problems. Perhaps psychologically people are especially receptive to the idea of an imminent, secret rapture at the present time. Additionally, many Christians are not aware that any other position relative to the second coming of Jesus Christ exists. Even in Reformed circles there are numerous people reading these books. Many of these people are unaware that this viewpoint conflicts with Scripture and Reformed Theology.

olofob: do you deny the Trinity as well?
Why are you changing the subject? Why not actually address what was said?
This isn't the first time you've done that. Several of us have been on the receiving end of that strategy.
yeah, you have to remember you are dealing with a dumb Catholic, we get real confused when reading the Bible. LOL!
must be a oneness convention going on!
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. - Isaiah 55:11
You'll get no argument out of us on that.
Amen!
the oneness cult is very active tonight, where are the seperated brethern?
The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Psalms 12:6-7
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. - Isaiah 55:11
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
THX THX.
Ah, gee Quix. More control and intimidation about what you do and how you post. What are the chances they will ever learn that controlling and intimidation doesn’t work with Christians.
Then I won’t waste my time because “you don’t have to be brilliant, not being stupid is enough.”
Thanks.
good call on your part!
There is no there there.
You won't get a straight answer to anything and any attempt to discuss anything will be misrepresented. FWIW, I wouldn't waste my time.
oneness heretics all.
To whom are you referring as "her"? And do you have any thoughts about what I said concerning baptism?
Some seem determined to
NOT learn such things in this life.
I agree that baptism is certainly something we should do as Christians when we have made that decision to follow Christ and you are right that it should not be something that is just done to someone against their will.
I am one of those people who was baptized as a baby but when I actually understood the Gospel and trusted in Jesus as my Savior, I chose to be baptized again. It was just as you said, a personal declaration that I was a new creation in Christ and I was buried with him in his death and raised again into newness of life. Praise the Lord! I think it means so much more when it is a real choice of the person being baptized and not something done TO them before they could even know anything or remember it.

The irony......
AMEN!!!
