The Not So Secret Rapture

Evangelical book catalogs promote books such as Planet Earth: The Final Chapter, The Great Escape, and the Left Behind series. Bumper stickers warn us that the vehicle’s occupants may disappear at any moment. It is clear that there is a preoccupation with the idea of a secret rapture. Perhaps this has become more pronounced recently due to the expectation of a new millennium and the fears regarding potential Y2K problems. Perhaps psychologically people are especially receptive to the idea of an imminent, secret rapture at the present time. Additionally, many Christians are not aware that any other position relative to the second coming of Jesus Christ exists. Even in Reformed circles there are numerous people reading these books. Many of these people are unaware that this viewpoint conflicts with Scripture and Reformed Theology.

Anyone can be conditioned to give the correct response with enough repetition.

A true witness of the Reformation.

This is the idea that Peter is giving to us by quoting Isaiah.

Riiiight. Your version of Christianity comes from Isaiah? Is there no Christ in your Christianity? If not, you are in a great company here. Not a Christian one, but great in numbers.

Well, he didn't make Peter the first pope. I guess He knew the character of man well enough to not establish that kind of absolute power and authority of one man over another.

Is there no end of mischaracterization that you will post? Who said that Peter had absolute power and authority? Hint - it isn't the Catholics.

Peter blows it time an again. That alone is evidence enough against claiming he was pope.

I see. The saint who leads your heretical group that denies the Gospel of Christ and the Nicene Creed never blew anything at all? Not even greater than .08?

My dear fellow, must I remind you that Jesus Himself quoted the Old Testament often?

Now now . . . gotta be careful in expecting some folks e. g. Rabid Clique RC, LDS, REPLACEMENTARIAN types to trust unrubberized history, facts, truth, etc.

Not their style nor affinities, it seems.

So are you saying there ARE MANY CUBIC MILES worth of water in that bulge at the equator?

Such that if a pole shift occurred wherein the spin was significantly altered however briefly, that bulge could engulf coastal areas to quite a height as contended?

Then there’s Scriptures indicating that underneath the earth—in the plate? there’s a huge amount of water, too.

My dear fellow, must I remind you that Jesus Himself quoted the Old Testament often?

Not necessary. But must I remind you that the OT is the precursor to Christ, as John the Baptist was, not Christ Himself.

What does that have to do with the state of your beard or Pentecostal hankies or anything else on this thread?

Whoa ...”IF” is a really BIG Word

There is a bulge, How much water is in it ... is theory. I do not know John Moore’s work and have not watched his videos. Some of what you suggest is probably true. It is hypothetical.

God’s creation is God’s to do as He chooses. Man learns mostly after the events, and facts occur. God’s principles can be seen and perhaps learned. Usually many years after.. Many things can be suggested. Some are logical, some are really ‘out there’ and is supposition.

What I know for sure is God’s Will ... will be!

Let us praise the Almighty LORD of the Universe!

"Now pray tell what does that have to do with the RCC?"

The "RCC" or more properly the Catholic Church, has maintained an unbroken Apostolic Succession from Pope Peter I through Benedict XVI. The Church didn't leave you, you left it.
